Quilt With Us

Wow, this year seems to have just flown by.  I know as we age it seems that way every year, but for some reason this one really seems to have flown by.  There have been some challenges to deal with this year, but not as much as we have had to in the past so all is good.  As a lot of you know, I started working a seasonal job in the coat check room at our small local casino.  The winter has been so mild that it has not worked out quite like I had hoped it would as there were several days when I went home early due to no work, but now it is finally getting cold enough for people to leave their coats.  Part of our pay is dependent on tips.  Some customers don't tip at all whereas others tip very well as it all evens out in the long run.  You start to see the same people coming in several days a week and a lot of them make sure to stop & say hello even if they are not leaving their coat with me.  One even gave me a hug & wished me a Merry Christmas.  Plus I really like the people I work with.

I want to wish all of my QWU friends a very safe and happy New Year.  We are staying home tonight.  Will probably play some sort of board game with the grandsons in the hopes of making it until the ball drops at midnight.

Happy New Year Janet...We went to bed early as both of us had to work,,,I even missed the Rose bowl, as we went riding all around North Carolina, with the lady I take care of...Life is good even when your tired...No ball drop for us.

Our internet went down about 11 last night & didn't come back up until about 10 this morning.  Larry was watching something on tv that didn't interest me so I went to bed and read until about 12:15.  We don't have a tv in our bedroom so I didn't see the ball drop either.  I agree with Irene that once you have seen it, you never really have to see it again.  Plus the pre-midnight programs just don't interest me in the least.  Gosh, I guess that means I'm officially an old lady!  LOL

Happy New year to you as well Janet.  I spent it alone in the sewing room.  I went to bed around 10:30 and watched a bit of t.v. and did some reading.  I usually watch the ball drop in NYC but if you've seen one drop you've seen them all drop so I don't think I missed anything.  I'm sure it's being played over and over all day today anyway.

Happy New Year to you! I thought the year went fast also. We went too a sports bar to watch the Orange Bowl. Now I'm in my jimmies watching the Cotton Bowl. Will try to make midnight. When I was little, I swore I'd stay up every new years eve. Haven't missed many....

Happy New year.  May you still have work enough for what you need. No party here. Did make some cookies.

Wishing you the very best that 2016 can offer!  I never was a New Years Eve party girl, and tonight will be no exception.  The older I get the more I appreciate my nice quiet lifestyle.  Happy Quilting!

Happy New Year. I'd be shocked if we made it to midnight. We'll probably celebrate with the Eastern Time Zone.

Happy New Year, Janet.  Sounds like you have found a niche!  You do know that 10:00 p.m. is Geezer Midnight, don't you?  I'll probably make it to that! LOL
