Happy New Year (although January is flying by)

I hope everyone is enjoying 2018. I am having a bit of a problem remembering the year. What happened to 2017 and many prior years? Eek. And now January will fly by as well.

I got my shoveling and dog walking done fairly early today so I thought I'd start another new project to go with the 900 other UFO's. I think I must be dumb as a brick. I got a gift card for our local shop for Christmas so, in the spirit of the season, I spent it all plus some.

Here is my wisdom for the day--have fun!

I am now working on a giant Dahlia. "Hot Mess" is its current nickname but I am hoping for improvement.

What pattern did you select for your new project?

Love your wisdom of the day.  Before I retired a wonderful lady who retired before me told me her mantra was to take time to play everyday.  It doesn't always happen, but most days it does!  Commit to treating yourself well.

To a New Year of happy starts and even happier finishes.  What a great gift!

Keep warm!

I have one more week before heading south. We are getting freezing rain and 15 inches of snow tonight. It's 50 out now and will drop 60 degrees before midnight. I am ready to be warm. I am trying to decide what project to take with me. When I get home, there will be a massive cleanup of the sewing room. There's things I haven't used in years!

Some of us have been chatting on the Machine Embroidery Buddies group about trying to organize our sewing rooms and how difficult that is due to the fact that we all have way more stuff than we will ever use in our life times.  I came to the conclusion that we all enjoy shopping for the supplies as much as we do actually making something with them.  I am just about finished with another UFO.  I started this one 20 yrs ago so I guess it was time to finish it.  LOL

So far I'm enjoying Winter, but like you, I feel it's going way too fast. As for the gift card, I would have done the same thing. I love shopping for sewing stuff, especially pretty fabrics. Any other kind of shopping I hate. lol
