Quilt With Us

I'm sure most if not all have been aware of the terrible fire season we're having this year. Our state of Washington has had many major fires ... and now there is one more ... in the area where I live. It started on Saturday and grew from 15 - over 700 acres by this morning. It is still several miles from us, but depending on weather is could get close really fast (we often have a lot of wind out this way).  Rain dances and prayers would be greatly appreciated!

A wide view of forested landscape with smoke risking generally above a forested ridge. It's a sunny day and distinct green trees are visible in the foreground.

Thinking of you and praying for rain in your area. Please keep us updated on your situation as the news reports don't sound very good.

Rain, rain and more rain please Lord. I hear snow is good too. I will be praying for you and everyone else. We met a couple in Fl. at the resort that lost their home to the mess. How sad.

Oh my goodness stay safe!! The Canadian west has been hit hard this year too. Breathing in that smoke is so dangerous too. It is fine particulate that lodges in the lungs and causes damage. Is there a local radio/ fire station that gives updates? I agree, pack and be prepared to exit. How scary. Prayers coming your way and a wish for rain for sure.

Mu goodness, I can't believe the devastation of all of those wildfires this year.  Prayers for your safety, and for rain coming your way.  Those fires grow so quickly, and seem to develop a life of their own, so we will all feel better when we hear that you are safe, and the fire has been controlled.

My prayers have been for so many people who have fires close or coming in WA, ID, CA and other states. We've smelled the smoke at times, but normally don't get it. Stay safe, BJ, and also everyone else. Keep us informed of how you are doing.

Joan - that's a nasty fire near you.  Ours is still in infancy, but it is big enough. I don't think it is getting much news coverage. We don't have TV so I rely on FB and an incident website that updates frequently.

BJ I hadn't heard about that fire. Unfortunately I don't see any rain coming but at least it isn't blazing hot today. Hopefully they will get it under control soon.
