Quilt With Us

We have moved back to the house. Will do long weekends at the lake. It definitely turned cooler. The leaves are turning after this weekend with frost...they will really turn. Have a few projects in mind...have been ask to teach a church group to make pillowcases for the children's hospital and the local nursing home. The first thing will be to oil and clean their machines! They looked like deer in headlights when I asked the last time they cleaned their machines! lol I bought several packs of needles...I'm guessing some have the same needle the machine came with. This is working out great for me. I have a ton of Christmas fabric and kid prints to donate to the project. It feels good to liquidate!

Kathleen, that is the view from our deck, the fog was lifting off the lake. We've had an eagle hanging around the cove feeding. Been on the lake a few years. I'm glad that no-one is bothering him...

Beautiful pictures Pam!! Is that your view from your lake house?

What beautiful lake pictures!  We haven't had our first frost yet, but the days are really chilly, and the leaves get prettier by the day.  Those ladies will love having you leading the way, and the kids will love getting the pillowcases.  When it comes to liquidating fabric - I hear you loud and clear!  I've done pretty well this past year at donating some, using some, and buying less.  But oh, the temptations!

Beautiful pictures!  So peaceful looking.  Have fun teaching the class.  I love making those pillowcases and the kids love getting them.   We went from 92 degrees to 65 in 1 day.  I much prefer the 65 although we have been having some pretty intense t-storms again.  I think we have had more of them this summer than the other 10 summers I have spent in MO combined.

Great project and beautiful photos!  Turning colder here, too, but compared to Montana (snow), we have it pretty easy.  :)

I have two machines that I use all the time and I have to kick myself in the ankle to remind me to clean out the bobbin holder space regularly.  Needles I remember!

I have made stacks of those pillowcases over the years!

Your lake photos are beautiful!

Beautiful photo's Pam. We are getting some frosty mornings. The foliage is not at it's peak yet but the temps have dropped. I think it's nice of you to teach the girls to make pillowcases. I can't imagine sewing without changing my needles and cleaning my machines. It's a chore as I have 5 machines that I use all the time.

Sounds like you are going to have your hands full teaching.  Enjoy the experience and let us know how it works out for you.
