Here's My Little Girl's Spring Dress

Hello Everyone!   I know some of you like my adventures in smocking, so here's a picture of my latest (almost done) dress, I still have to set in the sleeves.

I wrote a tutorial of how to attach the square yoke to the smocking on my blog (as it can hold more info).  Here's the link: http://moderntraditionquilts.blogspot.com/2013/04/tutorial-assembli...  Additionally, if you're interested, I would love to have you "follow" that blog too, consider yourself invited!  :)  Have a great day everybody!

Beautiful Shannon, I am a sucker for a sailor - dress!  Especially like the eyelet on the bottom.

I do appreciate smocking and you sure have done a lovely job.  Yes, an heirloom indeed!  Great job

What an adorable dress.  I love the look of smocking, but have never done any.

A beautiful smocked dress for your daughter and bet she's the best dressed girl. I love to sew, but quilting is my thing to do. I've seen it done on TV, but wouldn't tackle it myself. Post another pictures of it, once it's done, because I'd love to see it.

What a beautiful, classic spring dress!  Smocking is just so beautiful, and intricate looking.  I would love to make a smocked dress for my 2 year old grand daughter, but she would probably be through high school before I got it done.  I have no confidence in being able to do this technique.

Beautiful!  I just love that classic "sailor" style---always in vogue.
