Quilt With Us

Yes, I'm done, or should I say I'm Done In?   Between my serger and sewing machine I think I had smoke rolling out of my sewing room. Plus my bum is sore from sitting so much.  I was bound and determined to get some things done for gifts this year and of course the rule says you have to put them off until the week before Christmas. Right?  Haven't you heard of that rule too?  Hubby would  call me from his cell phone to my cell phone, from the family room mind you, just to make sure I was still breathing.    I did take a standing break and made about 15 dozen cookies to gorge on I mean snack on each day. I didn't have any cookie elves come this year so it was all on me to get them done. ( Last year the cookie elves  my friends pitched in and brought me cookies...so wonderful)

Well, I'm sorry I don't have any photos but promise to get them on after Christmas.  I was in this "zone" and chanting... just get it done, just get it done. (I still have to pace myself so thing's tend to take longer than normal)  So,  all my gifts are wrapped and ready to go, Phew!  Going to see my little GS..... he'll be a month old and I can't wait to hold him.  I kind of overdid on the Luke gifts this year.  Oh, well...Merry Christmas everyone.  HO HO HO!

Every Christmas I say next year I'm going to  limit the number of gifts, hasn't happened yet.  My husband wondered what did I buy for $x,xxx amount of money, and as we opened he became more confused.  I believe he lives in the twilight zone because he has no idea how much stuff costs and how fast it all adds up! I was thinking maybe I should start the shopping earlier and stash.....

Hi Debbie. Always nice when things get done :) enjoy time with your grandson. They seem to grow faster than our children did. Guess time really does go faster as we get older. Have a nice visit.

Debbie, I'm so happy that you are feeling well enough to do that much sewing.  Next year is when Luke will really be fun to watch at Christmas.  I remember going overboard during my DD's first Christmas.  She was about 8 months old and it was finally so overwhelming to her she just sat down & started crying.  At that point I just put the rest of the gifts aside & let her open them a little bit at a time over the next few days.

You can't go overboard with gifts...although, there will be moaning when our son sees what is coming into his house!!! They are only little for a few years...

We are picking up the boys today for an outing of indoor golf, so DIL can breathe! This was taken yesterday...the youngest ran up to Jeff/Santa and jumped on his lap and hugged him, said...I've missed you!!! Of course, mom didn't expect that so she didn't get it on video. Jeff works at True VAlue, never married. He just loves the kids...Merry Christmas...

Wow! I'm impressed. You beat me by a mile!  I just wasn't able to get the sewing gifts done this year. I can picture you in the sewing room burning the midnight oil.  LOL - can so relate to calling DH (or being called) with the cell phone in the house. The nice thing about being a grandma is you can do the going overboard thing. You are going to have such a great Christmas with him.  Yesterday I did 4 different biscottis and hopefully one more today. YUM.
