It has been a good 25 years since I saw the play also.  The quilt guild that I belonged to at the time made the blocks for the show, two of each.  I know the blocks and the finished quilt was then borrowed and used in productions all over the state of MN for awhile.

PS The Calico Gals is a very nice quilt shop and very helpful. If, you're in the Syracuse area, it is worth a stop!

I saw this play over 25 yrs ago & loved it.  PQ, I don't remember the part about belittling the strong faith of pioneer women, but I can understand why that would be upsetting for some.  I just remember that it evoked just about every emotion a person can feel and would love to see it again.  I wish it would come to the Columbia MO area some time.

OH, if only I lived closer....... I think it would be nice to see it and if only to see all those quilts in one place.

Shannon, I've seen this.  Probably about 10 years ago.   I thought it was well done outside of some modern day topics that would not have been discussed during the time period they were portraying and another issue belittling the strong faith of prairie women.  I may be too critical, but I'm not too far removed from my pioneering, homesteading ancestors.  I remember having such high hopes when I went to see it and being somewhat disappointed.  Don't let that discourage you from seeing it, because the things that bothered me may not even be a blip on the radar for anyone else.  I may be in the minority, because it received rave reviews when it was in my area.
