Quilt With Us

Hard to believe that in just 2 days time I will be receiving my Bachelor's Degree from Ferris State University College of Arts and Sciences. The countdown to May 4th has begun and I've seen my grades from all but 1 class. My literature final exam and paper has been turned in but the grade won't be released until the 7th! :(  Not really worried too much as I'm pretty sure it will be an A, possibly a B, but it sure would be nice to know.

My twin granddaughters will be unable to attend as planned. Their mom is a professor at Alpena Community College and they've changed her schedule around so that now she has to be there instead of attending my festivities. So it will be just me and hubby which is just fine. Family members and friends have been given the link so they can watch it live on webcast on Friday at 7 pm. For my friends who may have lost it, you go to www.ferris.edu and then click on Commencement and/or graduation and look for May 4th, 7 p.m. College of Arts and Sciences and you'll be able to see everything! Think that's pretty neat and allows my dad, who is in end stages of Alzheimers, and my 94 year old mother-in-law to attend from the comfort of their homes.

Was nice to be able to spend a few hours today working in my studio and trying to get it in some simblance of order. Once everything has quited down I'll be able to spend a lot of time getting it organized, getting my home cleaned and organized and enjoying a little "me" time.

More later!

Well I DID IT!!!! Wheeee!!!! Last night I received my diploma. My DH had a front row seat so that he could take some good pictures. Unfortunately, he was so excited that all the pictures are either fuzzy or look like a bunch of glow sticks moving around in the dark. LOL, Poor dear feels so bad but I told him that I like them and will incorporate the "effects" into some fiber art. Besides, I will be receiving a DVD of the ceremony so I can see "how" I looked. :) Plus there was a photographer who took pictures as you received your diploma and afterwards as well. Those won't be available for a few weeks, however.

On Tuesday we will be leaving for a cross country trip to see his 94 year old mother as a surprise for mother's day. Should be real nice as I'll give my "new car" a real workout. If hubby is lucky, I may even let him drive it a little.

Well, I need to go take a nap. Did a lot of driving the past 2 days, not to mention the late night and early up for the return trip home from the University (3-4 hours one way).

Thanks again to everyone who offered their congratulations, encouragement and support. It really means a lot.

Congratulations Terri.  I'm very proud of you.  It is too bad that your other family members can't be there though.
