Quilt With Us

Was just notified by the Blue Phoenix Book Store in downtown Alpena, Michigan that my book signing will be held on Saturday, September 3rd from noon to 2 p.m. It will be an interesting experience to be in the "spotlight" when I've always tried to keep a low profile. LOL. A lot of good THAT has done me as I always seem to end up in the paper for one event or the other.

Well, the inlaws are on their way back to Phoenix, AZ and as much as I hate to see my 93 year old mother-in-law leave, I can't say the same for my sister-in-law. My MIL is a hoot as she loves adventure, exploring and rarely complains about anything unless it is past time for her to eat. Being she is a diabetic I understand her schedule and usually try to be a little early when we ate. My SIL, on the other hand, does nothing but complain about anything and everything. I managed to keep smiling and not say anything as I didn't wish to spoil the time my DH had with his mom, but it wasn't easy. I've smile so much that my face hurts! ~2~

Spent today trying to straighten up my studio but ended up going shopping for fabric for a block swap instead. Picked up a book on making fabric PCs AND a copy of Irish Quilting Magazine.

Now to go settle down with a nice pot of tea, prop my feet up and enjoy a light read.

Oh, I still have books, patterns and kits available to swap for fabric OR if you'd like to purchase them, tell me which books and I'll give you a good deal and I will pay the postage!

All the best!

Someone always has to spoil the fun! But you showed her she wasn't going to do that.. Good for you! Not sure I could have kept my mouth shut.. might had to take her to the broom closet LOL And wow 93!! My MIL was 89 when she passed last year..miss her dearly. And congratulations on your book! Keeping fingers crossed you have them lined up around the corner of the building!

Terri, I hope you have people lined up out the door for your book signing - you deserve it!

I too understand about how nerve wracking it can be to deal with negative people.  I had a friend a few yrs ago who was like that.  She really had the attitude that the whole world was against her.  I finally had to stop hanging around with her because it was just too exhausting.  What made it worse was that she didn't really have anything to complain about compared to lots of other people in this world!

Congratulation on your book signing. No more low profile for you kiddo. Your getting up front and personal with your books.  I hear what your saying about someone complaining all the time. It does get nerve wracking to the point of wanting to run away from them.  DH is a chronic complainer and I get to the point sometimes where I blow up at him.  The negative energy brings you down after awhile.
