Well the month of July went by very quickly and so much did get done. (see past postings) I've entered 11 entries into the Creative Arts for Home and Hobby exhibit which is part of the NJ State Fair, Sussex County Farm and Horse show to open Aug 5th - 14th. I'm involved with securing monitors to help protect the exhibit. So far I've completed that task to the best of my ability. Evening commitments have been a bit of a challenge however.
Anyway, this week will be a continuation of preping the building which this exhibit will be housed. Monday, Aug. 1st, will be the judging of the quilts. (I've entered 9 in various categories). I'll be involved with this process, either pinning the numbers on the quilts or holding them up for the judges to see. I won't be scribing. I'll keep you folks posted and possibly take some pictures as the process goes forward. (if possible) Once the judging is done, the quilts will be hung in the exhibit area that evening. The rest of the exhibit gets put together throughout the week. I'll again post pictures of the transformation of this blue pole barn as it goes forward.
So many interesting items came into the exhibit hall today. Many knitted and crocheted items as well as counted cross- stitch pictures. Canning goods, jams and jellies, wines, beers, jewelry, trash to treasure art, drawings, you name it and it came into the building to be judged from folks from all walks of life. Young and old, handicapped and infirmed...very creative items.
I'll keep you posted as to how things are going forward from this point. I hope that you will enjoy my postings during this process. So much can be learned from looking 'inside the process' of preparation and judging.
