Quilt With Us

I did get my socks knitted and I love them. No problems with the wool.
At Round House I serge the seat seam and inseam on jeans. I really like my job. I work with some wonderful people.
Now that we are home, we have a church home and that is great. We actually know people in the community not associated with trucking for the first time in 12 years, lol. And I love being home to participate in church activities.
Hope everyone is doing great and quilting away.
I'm working on finishing some knitting projects before I get back to quilting.
God Bless!

Welcome back, Laurie.  Glad to hear you like your new job and those you work with.  My husband owned a trucking company and since retirement he hasn't even renewed his CDL so he's not tempted to drive again nor "bugged" by others to drive.  He drove locally, not over the road.  He now just works at home on the yard, etc.

What size needles did you use on your socks.?

Laurie, I am so happy to hear that you and Bill are settling into a new routine and loving it! Change can be difficult... even if it is for the better. Think of all the quilting time you'll have. Your quilts are so gorgeous! I'm sure there will be days that you wish you could hit the road, but now it is for fun!

So good to hear from you again, Laurie. Knitting socks is a nice thing to get done. Church family does help with life in general.. We still haven't found a church family yet. Hard going from one denomination to another,,,But we do realize church family is good either way. I am teaching quilting to a few ladies in my area, here in North Carolina..That is keeping me busy. I am vey happy doing it.

Keep up the good work,,be safe,,

So good to hear from you, Laurie.  Sounds like you've made the adjustment with a great attitude.  So glad to hear things are going well.  I love the little baby quilt with the farm animals on your photo page.

I crocheted some things with wool yarn for the first time this past winter, and I thought it worked up  nicely, too.  I'm not much of a knitter - I can do the basics, but I seem to get along better with crochet work.

I've completed a couple of baby quilts and am working on  graduation quilt.  Finally getting back into the swing of things after a long, dry spell of no motivation to quilt.  I'm starting to get excited about projects again.

Keep in touch.  It's always good to catch up.

It's great to hear from you Laurie.  Sounds like you are enjoying your retirement from the road.  That's a hard life.  Both my boys are truckers. I'm glad you are enjoying your church family and sewing for others.

Laurie, sounds like you are home and not driving truck anymore. Congratulations on getting your socks done and now on to other projects. Serging seat seams and inseams on jeans keep you in the sewing business. Good that you love the work and are now home to enjoy another chapter of your life. Hugs to You.
