Quilt With Us

I wanted to take a moment and share my latest quilt top with you.  In March 2011 my sister (who lives in Arizona), two quilting friends (who live locally to me) and I decided to do Bonnie Hunter's "Little Monkey" quilt found on her website:  www.quiltville.com  To add a spin to the project, we decided to each pick out our own border fabric that we wanted to incorporate into our own quilt.  We provided each other with a piece of that border fabric and from the colors in that border fabric we sewed 9 "Monkey Wrench" blocks.  The end result was that each one of our quilts contained 9 different blocks from each person involved in the project.   We gave each other until September 2011 to accomplish making the blocks.   We had fun showing each other the blocks as we finished them and how they worked with each of our border fabrics.  I haven't finished making the top into a quilt yet. ..that remains...but I will always cherish the friendship that has gone into making this quilt.   Monkey%20Wrench%201.JPG

Isn't it fun to play with the same block and get so many different looks??   Congrats on a wonderful quilt, and friends.

Love how the orange makes it really come together with all the scrape blocks.
