I want to buy a new iron, but I want one with the option of auto shut-off. Do they(whoever) make irons with this option? I have a one that I got from walmart for $10 that doesn't shut-off, but it's just ok. When getting ready to do the final pressing, I have to stop what I'm doing to restart my iron. Its kinda annoying to have to wait for the iron to reheat. I know it doesn't take long, but still.

I hardly ever come to QWU home page even though I'm here everyday. I'm missing out on a lot.

There are brands of iron that have auto shut-off after 10-15 minutes idle.  I have a Hamilton Beach with auto shut-off after 20 minutes (bought at Walmart) , and also has a reset button. I bought a Rowenta 2 months ago without an auto shut-off, and it's kind of dangerous because it is 1750 watts, which when left unattended could burn down the house.

So whenever I use it, I put a sticker note on the ironing board that says 'SHUT THE IRON OFF!!!'.  I seldom use it, only when I am doing linen or wool fabrics.

I hope you find one.  I don't like the auto shut-off feature either, for the same reason you mentioned.  It is frustrating to have to wait for the iron to heat back up each time.

I just ordered an iron from Joann's using my 50% off coupon...look on their website, they have many to pick from!
