Quilt With Us

I would like to make some friends that quilt, sew and embroider. I have been doing handwork since I was young. I got away from quilting for a while, now I am going back to quilting to help me quit smoking and stay quit. I have smoked for 27 yrs. and now is the time for me to quit for good.

I have 2 totes full of unfinished projects and quilts to make for my 6 kids and 13 grandkids and my 2 closest friends before I die. I will be busy once I get started.I live in the Pacific Northwest, am 55 and love life!

Hello Bonita, I like to sew quilt and embroider too - as do most of us on here.  6 kids, 13 grandkids and only two totes of projects?  Unbelievable!!!  I hope you've posted some pictures.

Welcome, Bonita!  This site is fabulous and I won't repeat what the others have said!  You do feel like you know them and when you do get to meet them, you do feel like old friends.  Some of the gals I haven't met, but would love to, if I ever get the chance.  I have met one and it was a blessing!  She is wonderful!  I am not sure where you are in the PNW, but I am in Federal Way, WA......

Welcome Bonita!  You will find this to be an incredible group of quilters.  I joined in the hope I would find the answers to quilting questions, tips, and perhaps a shove in the right direction when I got stuck with a pattern.  But I've found so much more - it is amazing how close you can feel to friends you've never "met".  We share each other's lives - both quilting lives and regular lives !  I've also had the chance to meet several "in person" and we felt as if we were old friends.  Keep in touch!

Thank you all for the encouraging words about joining and quitting smoking. I am using Chantix which for me is working well. Tomorrow I am going to tackle my new sewing machine and learn a lot of new things.

I feel at home here already. Y'all are really nice folks!

Bonita - You have hit on the best group of people. Great support group, also great group where if you have problems with quilting etc. you find someone who knows the answer.

Congratulations on giving up smoking, like they say keep your hands and minds busy and you'll bet it!! And join one of the groups you'll soon find many friends with the same interests as yourself.
