March 13 Preparing for staying with baby grandson

As I start my week (last week), I am torn.  I have a pulled muscle on my left side.  It hurts to move, breath, walk, sit.  Near tears.  My son wants me to come to stay with the baby, so he and his wife can get away for a bit one day.  Thing is, they live some 80 miles away.  I do not like driving in traffic anymore, though I was born and raised in that area.

To make a long story short, I his twin brother who lives near us, was coming up.  I hitched a ride, sparing his brother driving up to get me.  I am not completely healed.  It is hard carrying the 18 pounder, but I manage.

The first of last week was spent making a list.  I was originally just be here over night one night.  Well, it turned into 3 days, 3 nights.  Came up Saturday and the plan is to take me home on Tuesday morning.

Barbara, funny you would say that about a strained muscle.  Before this picture was taken, I went to pick up that youngster and did something to my lower back.  I was about to feed him dinner.  Something went out before I even touched him.  For a few seconds, I could not move.  I finally got him out of his walker and into his highchair.  While feeding him, his daddy called (my son), they were headed home.   He wanted to know what I wanted to eat.  It was an hour + before they got home.  I managed.

I keep posting, I won't have anything to talk about in my next blog.  LOL

PS I am doing better today.

I'm so glad you were able to get there and enjoy your babysitting.  Kissing babies is very good for a strained muscle.

Just an update from my time with the grandson.  We had a marvelous time.  My pulled muscle did not really bother me.  Here are the 2 babies I watched.

Baby Daniel is 7 mos.  Gambit is 16 mos.

Gambit is a pure bred German Shepard.  He is papered, but can not be shown because of his long coat.  Though he is still a 'puppy', he is great with Daniel.

I'm sure taking care of the baby with pulled muscles must have been hard physically but I bet you enjoyed spending time with with him.  I hear what your saying about driving in traffic.  I find myself staying away from high traffic areas as much as I can.
