Quilt With Us

Hello! Yep, today is my birthday! No, I'm done counting! LOL. There are some sad things in my life right now. We have to put our beloved Newfie, Julie, down friday. She has agressive bone cancer. Poor baby. That is such a hearache, on the heels of such joy she has given for 9 years. She will be missed. I haven't been sleeping well. So I stay up late and work on my DGD quilt. Piecing this top has been my therapy. My solace and comfort. Amazing that quilting can do that for us, isn't it?

Happy birthday, although a little late. I had my 60th on the 19th.  My husband threw me a party and it was nice.  I'm so sorry about your Julie. From reading your post, it sounds like you will take her tomorrow. I hope that quilting and your friends will be therapy for you.  My thoughts are with you.

Happy Birthday Debra.  I can relate to losing your beloved pet.  It sure is painful but like others have said, the pain turns to good memories that puts a smile on our face when we think of them.  Enjoy your quilting.

Happy birthday Debra.  I am so sorry for the loss of your Newfie but now she is not suffering.  Quilting is very good therapy for all of us.

So sorry for your loss. Our beagle Freckles is now 10 and we wonder how long we will be blessed with him. We we enjoy each day.  So glad you are finding solace in working on the quilt for your DGD.

Happy Birthday Debra! I am so sorry for your loss! Julie will be missed but in time the great times you enjoyed with her will be cherished memories that you will never lose!

Happy birthday -- and so sorry about Julie.  It will be a rough time ahead but you'll know you are through the worst of it when your first thought when someone mentions her is a happy memory rather than the painful loss.  Hugs.

Happy Birthday...all animal lovers know what you are feeling....stitching does help.

My condolences on the loss of your beloved Newfie.  For a big dog, she lived a long, and I'm sure, happy life with you.  Quilting does help; there is something soothing about stitching.  I have sometimes made a little "memorial" quilt to help with my grief when I lost an animal family member.

Hugs to you.
