Quilt With Us

My husband & I are going to New Orleans next month to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary, which also falls on Father's Day.  I wanted either a purse or a tote that was bright & cheery to take along so I went through my stash & found these 2 fabrics.  The tote is the Candice tote by Lazy Girl designs.  As you can see in the 2nd picture, the front is also a pocket.  I like to carry my credit cards & cash in those little zippered pouches so I made one of those to match.

Love your bag! I hope you have a great time in New Orleans. I lived there for 3 years about 45 years ago. I know it has changed a lot and I too will visit this late fall. I bet I won't know where anything is any more. I took the St. Charles streetcar to work. I think it still operates.

I love your fabrics and those are 2 of my favorite colors. The pocket is an added bonus on the front. I'd probably put my car keys in there, too Happy early Anniversary on your 40th year and have n awesome trip.

Thanks Pam & Jan.  Yes the tote has a zipper.  I am slowly getting over my aversion to installing zippers!

Larry went to New Orleans for a conference years ago, but I have never been.  Can't believe I lived in TX for 17 yrs & never went to Galveston or New Orleans!

Pam, living in those towns is a lot different than visiting them as a tourist.  I lived in Las Vegas for 15 yrs.  We always joked that locals only go on the strip when they are entertaining out of town guests or working there.  Otherwise you avoid it like the plague!  LOL

Janet, I love that fabric!  Cute projects!  Is the main tote zippered as well? I love the D-rings used to attach the handles.  Congratulations on your 40th anniversary!  My niece's wedding was this past weekend.  At the reception, a couple who had been married over 60 years was asked if they had advice for the newlyweds.  The wife said, "Learn to work through your problems together."

Love it...pretty fabric! Happy 40th...we are heading to New Orleans in the fall for a conference. A fun city for a few days, two days in New Orleans and Vegas is plenty for me! Have a great trip!

Thanks ladies.  That pocket will come in handy.  I opted not to put pockets on the inside so it will be easier to take along a small needlework project if I decide to.  We will have 2 extra nights in hotels on the way down & back so I should take something to work on.
