Quilt With Us

Found this lovely Greyhound machine at a yard sale on Saturday for $25! Got lots of attachments and a manual. The problem is I'm having a very hard time finding info on this machine. The only thing I know is that it was made by New Home. New Home Janome has been no help at all. I'm hoping maybe someone here might have an idea how I can at least get a manufacturing date. Any help is appreciated!

I am amazed...there is so much to learn about the past machines...even brands.

Enjoy it...do you know where they were made. I brought a Singer in last wk for tune up, It was made in 1926-34. I hope to sew denim quilts on it, enjoy for a while and later find a home for it.

It sure looks like something 1940- 1950.

Thank you so much for all your help. This machine does work and came with a cabinet and all of the original attachments. It also came with a manual but the manual has no dates or even an address. The only thing I do know is that it was made by New Home. There was also some correspondence for parts from the original owner dated 1965.

Gayle I have sent an email to Glen and am waiting for a response. Thank you.

Joan I have signed up for the ISMACS digest. Thank you.

I just went on Ebay and found two of these machines.  One was $99.00 and the other one was $125.00 including a case.

I have to join those who have never heard of a Greyhound sewing machine.  It's beautiful and I'm sure you got a real deal on this machine.

Try ISMACS, I see he lists New Home in machine manufacturers:

I too have never heard of a Greyhound machine, but it is a beauty & what a bargain.  Even if it doesn't run, it would look great just as an accessory in your home.

Sorry I can't help--I've never hear of a Greyhound machine. I'm guessing you got a bargin though.

Wow! $25.00 you are very lucky! I have never even heard of this type of machine so I can be of no help there. Good luck with your research!
