Quilt With Us

No good deed goes unpunished.....

Hope everyone's Easter was good.  I enjoyed it very much with family and friends, and the weather was perfect!  I'm on school/work break this week, trying to "catch up"  (I know, hysterical, aren't I?) on some sewing.  I'm especially trying to use up fabric that I already have.  Made a pair of PJs for Piper that she won't wear because they're "too loose, Gramma!".  I like loose PJs, Piper likes hers tight!  Who knew?  I'll see if the little girl down the street likes them.  Now I'm trying to use four good quality coordinating cottons that I have in a sundress for Miss Persnickety.  It's an old Daisy Kingdom pattern, and the skirt is cut differently than most,  Now I'm about 12" short on the main fabric, ARGH!!!  Soooo, tomorrow I'll have to go to the LQS and hope I can get more.  Kinda defeats the purpose of using what you have, but, my heart is set on it now.  Hopefully I will have the willpower to only but that, if they have it!  I think I can, I think I can, I think I can.....

Glad you found your fabric in the the right color on line. How frustrating when you can't find what you have invisioned! Be sure to post the finished sundress.

Prairie,  I believe that a mischievous fairy enters the closet at night and takes in the seams!  I know that it's happened to me too.

And Pam, thanks for understanding.  :)

...or age...

Yep - once that vision takes hold, it's hard to settle for less.  I don't understand the tight fashions of today.  Seems they'd be uncomfortable to me.  I prefer loose-fitting duds, although sometimes I swear my clothing shrinks without my permission.  I'm sure it has nothing to do with my chocolate addiction...

Back from LQS, they no longer have the fabric in the color I need!  But, I did finally find and order it online.  So much for using what I already have.  The vision in my head won't change, so I had to order it!  You do understand, don't you???

I would take them apart and take in the seams.  I have a granddaughter who has to have every thing skin tight so I know how difficult it is to make things that she feels good in anymore.

Aww. I am sure you will find her the perfect fabrics! Can't wait to see the finished product.

Hope you can find your fabric!  Once my mind is set on something, I tend to obsess until I figure something out.  I hope for your sake, you're not as bad, just in case you need to switch fabrics.  Poor Miss Piper and her love of snug jammies, I'm sure she's missing out on some super-cute new ones.  I hope you post a picture of the new outfit.

We had a nice Easter also! Miss Piper is the only person I've ever heard of that wants tight jammies! lol She knows what she wants! I hate coming up short on fabric! Good luck finding more! Your outfits are always adorable...
