Quilt With Us

It has been brought to our attention recently, that we need to tell someone in the family how to contact QWU, when they are seriously ill or if there is a death. We have been on here for years and have made some very close friendships. When someone isn't posting for awhile, it would be nice to know why. Some just drop out to go to other sites. If, you have been an active member for sometime...Please let us know if there is an illness, death ,or even that you've decided to leave the site. We care and are just concerned...we don't need details.

Have a great Memorial weekend...remember all those who are serving or have served. Thank you to All!!!

Thank you Pam, this is indeed a good idea. I have to start a list I think, as my family would never remember on their own!

Great information Pam. Travelling as I do to HK. 15-17 hrs flight, my DR. Advices me to wear compression stockings as I have had varicose veins repaired. I hate wearing them and they are a beggar to put on but I know it is wise to wear them.
I also have wondered if I should become sick about this site and I think DH would know who to contact.

Thanks so much for bringing this up........I have often wondered what has happened to some of those that used to be here all the time. I have swap blocks that need to be mailed if something happens to me, but no one else knows this needs to be done. I have thought about it, but done nothing to take care of that problem.

Great idea Pam.  I have thought about this many times but never made a plan. All the time I was in the hospital I thought about QWU.  I have friends on here that are my friends on FB and I give full permission to take information from FB and post it on here if I get sick or die.  My son and GD posted I was sick on FB but neither of them know about QWU.  And one thing I have come to realize is that more information on how to avoid a blood clot should me more publicized as I could have benefited from that information and done things to prevent it.

Sharon, if you have any type of heart issue or circulation problem...you should never cross your legs or ankles. That puts undo pressure on you circulation and can cause pooling of the blood. That's why you should travel a couple of hours and stop and walk around for a few minutes or exercise your legs in the car.

That's a very good idea and something we don't just think about. I don't do a lot of posting, but I enjoy reading ones that are posted daily. Since you were a nurse, could crossing your legs lead to a blood clot? My cousin's doctor told her not to cross her legs and she had had chemo treatments.  Thank you.

Pam, I have often wondered about this same subject.  You are so right that there have been so many friends I have made through this site that I never hear from and have often wondered what happened to them.  I'm going to add this info to my "cheat sheet" that my daughter will use to be able to contact my family, friend and creditors, etc. if the need arises.
