Quilt With Us

Yesterday I went to the Red & White quilt show in NYC.  It was incredible. Held at the Park Avenue Armory...as you walked through those massive wood Doors which opened up to an enormous expanse of a room and beheld the hundreds of quilts hanging from all different heights you could not help but be awed.  The armory itself is impressive, so massive and old...beautiful wood on the staircases and walls...it was a lovely place in which to display all those amazing quilts.  I can not explain how beautiful and significant these quilts were...each one was hand quilted...each one told a story...each one was a piece of history.  I walked around, gazing, overwhelmed... I do not think my words can do them justice... so here are some pictures...Thats my quilt buddy Jenn and myself

I went to this show also. AMAZING, AMAZING, AMAZING!!!!!! All the quilts were hand quilted and the quilting was beautiful. The design display of the quilts was magnificent, as you can see in Rosalind's pictures. I am so glad I had the opportunity to attend this show!

Amazing! They look suspended in air.  I think I recently ran across this in a quilt magazine.

Thanks for sharing these pictures with us. This is the closest I am going to get to see them. I read about this show somewhere and think I remember that they are all owned by one lady who has slowly collected them over the years. Amazing.

They mentioned this on The Quilt Show's site so I clicked on and saw quite a few of them.  They are absolutely breathtaking!  And to just think that none of these people had the modern tools that we do today & still their quilts turned out spectacular!
