Quilt With Us

I was Spirit Led this past week.  I hope you were also.

I had fun making some ITH Christmas ornaments.  I am not really a Halloween person.  Thanksgiving plans have be set for the family.

Here are the ornaments:

They look better in person.  The colors do not really show well.

I also finished a charity quilt.  I have 2 charity quilts.  I just need to put labels on them, wash and get to organization.  When they are washed and ready to go, I will photograph.

Friday, our oldest son took off work.  He came over and started doing a lot of outside work that my husband can't do right now.  His medication makes him dizzy, and does not need to be on the roof or a ladder cutting down dead limbs from trees.  There is a lot more work to be done out there.  The twins stopped by also on Friday.  They 'treat' each other for their birthday a 'shooting' day.  They each have hand guns and rifles that need to be fired occasionally.  They each have their hand gun licences.  In fact, all 4 sons have their licences.  I guess it is a guy thing.  I would rather spend my money on fabric and thread, LOL.

Sean, the oldest talked with twins and they are all going to get together and have a work day over here.  I thank the Lord for my boys.  They are all so thoughtful and generous as far as we are concerned.

Sean's girlfriend texted me this morning and asked if I would help her sew something this afternoon.  Of course, I said yes.

Life and God is good.  He lives in me and those around me.  Through the good times and rough times.  He will never leave me.  I am a Child of God.  I always have hope.

No scripture today, above says it all.

May you have a Spirit Led week.

Thank you Prairie Quilter.  That is a beautiful song.  I agree with you on the verse you like, but I also like "how can I keep from singing".

It does no one any good to get bogged down in despair.  There is so much more to life, and most come in small things.  I have given Avery over to our Lord, as I know her parents have also.  His will be done.  Avery is a child of God, as we all are.  She is made in His likeness.

Beautiful ornaments, Carol.

This is an old hymn I've been listening to this week.  It resonates in me and you might find encouragement from it, too.    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Li2hddmy63U

I like the verse/refrain that starts, "No storm can shake my inmost calm..."

I'm glad you've found moments of joy this past week.

Thank you.  I am glad I am able to inspire you Irene.

My future DIL came over this afternoon with 3 pieces of fabric already cut to the shape.  It was a very simple vest for a child.  I had her iron it, and I showed her how to pin it and sew it.  Iron open the seams then turned the raw edges under and stitch.  Took just about an hour.  She thought she was going to get away with just sewing the shoulders and side seams.  I had her finish the edges.  She promised a picture of her son it in tomorrow.  It is part of his Halloween costume.

Thanks again about the ornaments.  They are from annthegran.com

The ornaments are beautiful. I love them.  I should do some embroidery.  It's been awhile since I used the embroidery arm on my machine. I made a a mantle scarf for my fireplace over at the house but I need to make a longer scarf for the shelf in my sewing room.  Your inspiring me to do that.
