Okay, I'm loosing it today`
Anne sent me a message to see if I had got my free embroidery block. She said go to files and I could get it. For the life of me I cannot find files. That bad memory I talked about yesterday is still her. I have been putting binding on a lap quilt. I am using the technique with fusible thread. The last time I used it everything went great. Today nothing has gone right. The thread keeps raveling on me and then with bad eyes it is hard to thread the needle even with an automatic threader. Because, guess what, the automatic threader caused the thread to ravel. Oh my. My Mom always said just walk away for a while. Maybe that is what I should do. Help. Betty in TN

I found the fusible technique on www.dquilts@blogspot.com. There is a tutorial if you look to the right side of the page. I love this technique. I finished my binding this morning. The thread is by Yli. If I am not supposed to put a product name on here, please let me know. I am doing a happy dance and saying today is going to be easier. I figured out that the free block was on an emboidery site. Excuse me for that blunder. Our weather is going from 45 degrees one day to 30 the next. Makes us all sick. Also the trees are budding and the buttercups are too. Happy sewing. Betty in TN

How does the fusible thread technique work? I think that sounds like a winner. I'd like to try it.

Sharon, it's a technique I found on a blog where you sew your binding on the regular way and then go back and zig zag the 1/4" seam with fusible thread. Then you turn the binding back as usual and press the seam. No pinning to do after that. I finally got it on and now to do the stitching it down from the right side. Takes an added step but worth not having to pin. You could also do it by hand if you wanted to. Betty in TN
