Quilt With Us

I have cut all the fabric for the 1930s pinwheel quilt i am doing which is for DH's Cousin Wedding in May I am going to use the Missouri Star pinwheel method click  Here   to see video only difference is that i am using layer cake size (10 inch squares)

I haven't managed to do any actual sewing as i have had a bout of Vertigo so no sewing for me, also i have packed up my machine so it can go for a service also to get the dog feed sorted as i can drop them using the slide lever but it won't come back up after using it

I been watching some of the DVDs i got which are the Quilt in a Day ones, well i need to think about what i will do my DD quilt in as she gets married in October so need to decide on that & the fabrics but not too worried yet as as need the cousin's one done & out the way

I just finished an 2 sock order which has been done in ONline Yarn their Forest Colour Range which is 75%  Virgin Super Wash Wool & 25% Polyamide the colour is 1296 & 1297

I will show you the colours in the range & then you can see the socks themselves

The socks will be on their way to the USA soon

Such beautiful socks!!--hope that the vertigo passes quickly.  It sounds like you have a very ambitious quilt project with a deadline, not time for illness!!  Due to your encouragement, I'm doing a second Aran sweater--a cardi this time--think that I'll do a semi-drop shoulder and pickup the sleeves to knit down.  That's the way that Alice Starmore (Aran Sweaters) shows to do it, then no setting in!!  Best wishes--hope that you're seeing signs of spring--the birds and flowers are beautiful, but it's a bit dry here.

Thank you All for your lovely comments

I have used this pinwheel method before & didn't starch i think because you sew round then cut then put it back together as pinwheel it seems to be okay

I am feeling much better today just been shopping which is early even for me so i could be back for the parcel man to collect my main sewing machine for a service & to sort out the dog feeds he not due until 12-7 but you never know they may come early so wanted to be here plus i can do some sewing lol

The socks are now in our postal system, they are very warm looking i guess being a darker colour makes it look like that, not sure what is my favourite colour is but by looking at the top photo i would say 1294 or 1298

Well thanks again to all of you for your kind comments you all have a good day take care

Janice I have made the pinwheels using their method and they work great. Lots quicker and I just remember to use spray starch to reduce the amount of stretch and being careful not to tug on the pieces.  Anyway I like it.  I love the socks and #1296 is my favorite.
