It all started with my "quilter's block" yesterday afternoon. I have been working on my "With Love From Roseville" quilt for my Fall retreat. I couldn't seem to find my stride. I knew I needed an eye-catcher for the center block, but no matter what I tried, nothing would come together. If it wasn't the colors, it was the design. When I thought I got the design right, the angles were wrong on the triangles. It was always something that drove me crazy...then...I decided to give up on it and just go through my stash and see what it had to offer me for inspiration.
Like many of you, I have yards and yards of fabric that I purchased "for that quilt" that just quite never met the rotary blade and mat. One of the fabrics I came across was a panel from a collection that was popular a few years ago that has cartoon pictures of silly quilters all over it. Suddenly, an idea came to me! What if I made a big center block of the new "Friends Squared Quilts" quilt shop the gals are building in The Ties That Bind and made a window for each "little quilter" to poke out of? Ha!
Guess what? I did it! ( Of course, this led to an alternative window plan for those who will be making my quilt at the Roseville Fall Retreat...so those of you out there who are planning to come-don't worry, I have you covered!)
So, I can't wait to get back at it this morning! I feel so renewed and excited I can't hardly wait to start!
I hope you have a great day wherever you are-and that you find a little inspiration along the way!
