Quilt With Us

This past week I been trying to figure out several things first is my computer well it that I upgraded to Windows 7 last June when I had to get another computer & while my printer works when I scan it does images but where before I could save documents in to PDF or Word I can only do images so still trying to sort that out as it not so easy as trying to update drives.
Then I have had a go at attempting to draw a applique block on EQ7 & also learn how to write a pattern to a PDF
Well with help from a friend she said you need to get a program for writing it to PDF so I downloaded PDF4Free & that works.
So I thought I would share the two patterns I done, the first is Ice cone I know I forgot to put in size which is 14 x 36.5 inches, the second is Broken Dishes both are table runners, below is the image then followed by the pdf file

Ice Cone
Broken Dishes

Here are the two Patterns

Ice%20Cone%20Table%20Runner.pdf

Broken%20Dishes%20Table%20Runner.PDF

both are Table Runners & these are my attempts of writing a pattern I hope that you will look at them & give me your comments both Good & Bad

Thanks Paulette

For you lovely Comments, i find that sometimes instead of doing crafts i read more but yes i do like to be doing something even if it is only reading a good book

I have an idea for a runner that i can tie in with some placemats it not the idea or working it out it trying to get it how i want on EQ so i can do it as a pattern

Hope your weather is not too bad, we have had some very windy weather but this morning is a very frosty start so it colder but at least the wind has died down

I love the broken dishes one. This one really is great for the fall. The ice cone is lovely, also. That would be a great July runner. I can't not see where you could improve on either one of them. Staying busy and trying different colors and cotton related items is just grand. I find myself getting depressed if I am not very busy during the winter months and some times the holiday.

Stay warm. Thanks again for sharing.

Hi Betty

If you click on the pattern above it gives the sizes for the corners it shows a square cut diagonally so do 2 then there is your 4

Thank you for the pattern. I'll try it soon. I'm stuck on a diagonal, large squares of outdoorsy print & can't figure out size of square to cut in half to make corners. Make sense? It's hidden in pile somewhere just like 1 library book. I'm busy with making dolls from a "pioneer" pattern book I bought recently in Murphy,ID (only town in SW corner of Idaho). I think. I think there's more rattlesnakes per Sq mile than people. Thank you Betty

Very nice.  I took the plunge yesterday and signed up for a quilt class. I picked the material and everything, so no backing out. I am so excited like a little kid at Christmas. It is a little pricey to quilt I'm finding out. I thought I could use cloth from the $1.99 a yd. store. I never knew quilting cloth is different.  But, I guess it's like knitting with Walmart yarn and 100% Alpaca. I'll take the Alpaca.

Thanks for sharing your project.

Great job  with the blog, Janice. I love the patterns too. I'm working on a Broken Dishes Pattern right now. I think I'll use the left over blocks for a table runner.
