Quilt With Us

Well, what can I say, I am soooo excited to be going back to this retreat.  I have been preparing for a little over a week, cutting out projects, packing and unpacking my retreat box.  Repacking my retreat box, then unpacking it again!  Ugh!

What do I want to work on, how many project can I get ready to take with me?  Do I have everything I need?  Have I made a list?  Of course!  I don't trust myself to remember EVERYTHING!  I think I have 7 or 8 projects ready to go, cut, labled, packaged and packed in their own little world.  Working on #9 tonight and hope to get it packed away as well.

Will I be able to complete all of them?  Wonder woman I am not, but I do like a great variety to choose from, and honestly, some of them have already been started, those that have an applique, I have three of them, and the appliques are all done and ready to go.  Can't wait to see the finished products with those.

Some I have had in process, I am working on a bali batik, Judy Neiemeyer wedding star pattern.  Paper piecing is truly not my thing, but I LOVE this quilt, even though my colors are going to be different than the original that I fell in love with.

I have a new quilt with butterflies on it, I am currently cutting and getting ready to pack (#9), so hopefully I will get a chance to work on that.

Leaving on Thursday, haven't even gotten to packing or thinking of packing clothes, etc.  I would also love to take treats, but am trying to figure out when I can bake so that they will be very fresh!

Oh, the worries, worries, worries!  I know you all laugh, you have all been there, that is for sure, at one time or another.  I read Rhonda's post this morning and was laughing all the way through, since I am doing the exact same thing with my lists, packing, unpacking, repacking, taking kitties out of my retreat box, petting the dogs, cutting fabric, oh, and I did I mention, in the midst of all of this, remodeling my home at the same time!

Busy hands keep a gal like me out of trouble.  Have a wonderful day, sew a little, live a little, love alot!  Oh, did I mention I am going on a retreat! LOL

Oh yes how are your 1 inch squares coming along.  I shared with my small group here and they are all hooked too...we will cover the world with one inch squares at this rate!

So glad to see you at retreat again.  We did have a blast.  You got 5 UFO's moved along...that is just great.  I have my 1 inch squares finished and witing for the binding.  I went down to Karen's this week and she let me quilt it on her machine.  She is just the best!  I go on Monday for my knee surgery so I will be down for a bit.  Hoping not to long I have many more squares waiting...I got the rows done for the one I started there...with the orange, yellow and green cross in the middle.  Gracie is pleased with it. Also have the turq. and brown one ready to be quilted. I never thought I would be wanting to machine quilt things but it was so fun.

It was fun to prank Joy...she is so funny and I am amazed at how long it took her to figure it out.  And that Mr. Goodbar fairy was just the best!

Take care and keep in touch.

Robin

See you in Sept...talk it up so we have a full house again...I have two more newbies that want to come I hope they can.

Clothes?  We need to pack clothes?  I forgot about that - hahaha.  I've got 5 projects packed so far and haven't given clothing a single moments consideration.  See you Thursday!

Great.  Now I am feeling sorry for myself 'cause I'm not going with you.    You'll have to have enough fun for both of us!

Sounds like you have BIG plans to get a lot of sewing done. Good Luck! You gals are making me wish the one I'm going to is sooner than a month away. I need to start thinking of the projects I'm taking!

LOL - I think as far as clothes go you just need comfy jammies and slippers.  I don't think you are going to lack for things to work on.  Have great FUN!
