Well I am planning on going down south to see my family!! I can't wait! I was wondering if they would let me stop off at all the quilt stores along the highway!! LOL wouldn't that be a hoot!

I usually get to stop once going or on the way back home on any trip. We have to plan, so the place I am going to will be open. Some places give a small discount to out of town people. It always pays to look in the welcome newspaper or the local paper if you have time. I even had Hancock of Pa. stay open a bit longer for me. During the quilt show, Hancock of Pa have longer hours and wonderful specials.
Well, of course you stop at any quilt shops you come across on a road trip. That's understood before you leave; well at least it is in our house! Have a fun trip.
Years ago, we were stranded in traffic in PA...low and behold in front of a quilt shop...I didn't ask, b/c I'm sure you can relate to that look that hubby gives when he has just heard what he thinks is insanity at it's best! I had enough time to pick up a pattern and a few fat quarters!!!! He didn't say a word for about ten miles...out came the words ...swift move!!!!
I ran into a couple in a quilt shop a while back on a trip. They were stopping at all the quilt shops along the way and she was at least getting a fat quarter from each one. I asked my DH if we could stop at quilt shops next time we take a road trip....he just looked at me like I was nuts and said "Nope"!
He does stop at the one I frequent when we go shopping if I need something!
Totally awesome! DH and I just did a 2-day drive to AZ to visit DD1 and GK's. DH kept pointing out quilt shop signs along the highway but just kept on zooming down the road. LOL
Yes, that would be awesome!!
