Quilt With Us

Looking back on this past year, it was a good year. Nothing earthshaking one way or another! Which is always a good year. I do want to make this one a little more exciting...I will be starting out 10 lbs lighter!!! I actually made it through the holidays without gaining! I will be going to Orlando in Feb. to get new prosthetics made. It has been 7 years since I had the last ones completely remade. It is a 10 day process. They start by casting you and go from there. I have a computer in the one leg, so that has to be calculated to my gait. These guys are amazing, they work with mostly soldiers. They themselves are ex marines...I feel like I've been to boot camp when I get home. They are the best and will not settle for second best. They will only take patients that are willing to do what it takes to be the best. 80% of their patients fly in from around the world. Very interesting place. So, am working out like a crazy person getting into the best shape possible, so it doesn't hurt so much when new muscles are stimulated!! I got a little lazy( a whole lot lazy)!!! But, my reward is going to Key Largo for a month following!!!

I have 5 UFOs that are going to get done this year. I am not looking for any more projects until then. When those get done, I can look again for treasures. Do you know how hard it is to keep the car from turning into those yard sales!!!! These are beautiful tops...so, they need to be completed.

Have a safe evening and will talk with you next year!

2016 Blessings...

A very exciting new year is ahead for you! How great that is! Your trip to Florida is going to be great. I have no concerns about you with regard to the work it takes with the new prosthetics. I'm hoping to lose a good 10 pounds myself, more would be better, this year. I'll try hard to not send them on to someone else.  Happy 2016!

Happy New Year Pam.  Sounds like your all prepared for the process of new prosthetics.  Have fun in the sun.  Work on those UFO's and in no time, you will be back at the Quilt Shops picking out new fabric and patterns.  It feels good to complete projects that have been laying around for awhile.

Happy New Year, Pam!  I think you can probably hold your own with the ex-marines, which is why they love you!  it will be worth all that hard work.  Shoot, just being down 10 lbs is worth it in my book!  Congrats! It is not easy.  In a perfect world, the pounds would come off as easily as they pack on.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!  Sounds like an exciting trip to FL. Boot Camp and then Key Largo for some fun in the sun and relaxing time or whatever you decide to do. Your UFO's will actually be done sooner than you think, as fast as you quilt. Best ever in 2016!!!

Have a happy, safe 2016!  I am sure you are looking forward to the new prosthetics, but probably not all the work to get it to be the best it can be.  Interesting process!  You will have earned your month in Key Largo.  I look forward to hearing about your adventures, and mis-adventures while you're away, and to seeing pictures of those finished UFO's.

Happy New Year, Pam! I think I gained your 10 pounds. (You're welcome) The process sounds intense but know you are up to it. Only 5 UFO's?!? I can send you some. #3 grandchild will need quilt. #1 is getting a bigger bed. #2 is moving up as well. No? Well, it was worth a try. Work hard and enjoy your reward.

Like you, 2015 was a pretty good year for my family and me -- nothing too exciting, but nothing terrible either.  Kudos for your excellent attitude and outlook about a process that sounds a little painful to me.  You are a star!

Be safe and happy this New Year.

Pam, you have a very strong spirit so I know you will go through those days in boot camp like a champ.  Here is wishing you & your family a very happy and prosperous 2016.

Happy New Year Pam! It sounds like you are starting it off GREAT! As if anyone could keep you down before they will have ZERO chance now! Congratulations on the 10lb loss, that's great! I wish I could say they same, unfortunately my scale went the other way.

I am actually excited to see what 2016 has to offer and I haven't been able to say I've been excited for the new year for awhile now. I hope you have a great and safe evening! Blessings for 2016!
