Quilt With Us

I have had a Spirit Led week, I hope you did also.

Last Monday we had a follow up doctor appointment for my husband and the trial he is going through.  My husband told his general physician that he does not feel he has cancer.  :(  Me, after listening to both of his doctors, am convinced that he does.  I told my husband that I feel it is in his best interest that he have any and all tests that the doctors suggest.  That we can nip this in the bud, he has a chance to beat it.  Then I totally put this trial into the Lords hands and only if the Lord tells me to put more pressure on him, otherwise, I have backed off.  Though, yesterday after church I was able to have a private conversation  with our oldest son.  Sean is going to get with his brothers and they will put pressure on their dad.   Note: this is a huge challenge, my husband has not given himself to the Lord.  I am not truly sure he believes.  I have asked and have faith that the Lord will reach him.  So please pray for us.

I have finished 'framing out' all of the crosses.  I have enough to make a 60 x 80 inch quilt AND make a picture framed cross for each family.  The quilt may end up larger depending on the borders.

Here is a not a very good picture of the initial layout on the design wall:

I may put lattice in and also rearrange them some more.  I will probably go with 6 rows and 6 columns also.  I just put them on the wall to see what I had.  But this gives you an idea of what I am doing.

Today, I will probably break out Emmie the embroidery machine to make some things for Christmas decor.

Hebrews 11:1 (NIV)

1. Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

May you all have a Spirit Led week.

Hopefully your kids will have more success encouraging your husband.  In the meantime, quilting is great therapy.  Hang in there.

Everyone, Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.  They are truly felt.  I did not and do not want my blog to be a 'pity party' one.  I am just staying focused on the Lord and what he is leading me to do.  Right now, He is telling me to get things on order.  To rely on Him first and more; and not me, myself and I.  He will see us through this.  He sees the whole picture, I can't see what will come in the next minute.

Again, thank you from the depths of my heart.

God bless you all and may you continue to have a Spirit Led week.

The cross quilt is coming along nicely!  It will be beautiful whatever you decide.

Praying you will see the Lord's sustaining hand at work in your lives through this trial.  Hope it helps to know we care.

There is a good chance that he is just afraid of the results of the tests so probably all you & your sons can do is encourage him to get tested.  My husband is so much better about going to the dr than he used to be, but most men just don't handle that very well.

Hi Carol,  I will be praying for your hubby to trust his doctor's and take any treatment they decide is best for his condition.  The quilt is going to be beautiful when it's done. I think the lattice would look nice on this quilt.
