Quilt With Us

Goodness--I lost another month. I am delighted to announce that I do not plan to be out of town at all in October. (Unless #1 son in Seattle buys a condo and needs mom to come paint) Otherwise, I wil sleep in my own bed, slump around without makeup in my rattiest quilting t-shirts and put the garden to bed. I'm so excited. I hate having to comb my hair every day and act like an adult.

I have just over three weeks before our local quilt retreat. I hope to get the applique done on, yes, wait for it, yes, you're right, THE wedding quilt. Haven't you missed my whining about that? I have about six leaves to applique and a fair amount of embroidery to do. Then I will piece the whole mess together and baste it at retreat. That's my plan and I hope I'm sticking with it.

What else is going on? Well, I went to Denver twice in three weeks. 500 miles each way. Entertained my son's in law's. Started designing the mystery quilt for the third book in the series. Learned to roast fresh tomatoes to freeze. Yum. Made plum jam. Yum. I have buckets of apples so I'm freezing them one pie filling at a time. Did I mention I bought a freezer? Wow is that fun! Helped set up the quilt show before I left for the first Denver trip. We had 160 quilts on display in our little town. Beautiful!

And last, but not least (pun intended) I gained back 6 of those devil pounds.

I missed you all!

Well, I volunteered to do the painting. It's a good excuse to go visit. I'm working on book three--it's not finished and not under contract but if I don't park my chubby rear end on the chair and work, it won't get done. Book 2--Murder by Artifact: The Murder Quilt will be released on November 18. Your bookstore can preorder it for you if you ask them to. At least check out the cover on Amazon or B&N--I love it.

Book 3 already?! Wow! When do we get to see book 2?

It's truly time for a break. Tell your Seattle son he can paint his own new condo!

Barbara--my deep, dark secret is that the real reason I home schooled all those years was so that I could stay home and NOT act like a grown up, ratty t-shirts, messy projects, un-ending noise and all ;). My favorite days are those when I don't have to go any farther than the mailbox. Have fun with your freezing and canning, but if you really want to paint, you can come to my house!

Barbara, you are some busy. Wow and now into freezing pies. Looking forward to seeing photos of that wedding quilt. You will soon lose that 6 lbs. so don't even worry about it. Worry makes you sick. LOL

We have missed you. Tell your family they have to share you now. (just kidding) I can see why you were too busy to blog. My gosh girl, you had one crazy summer. And now a freezer to fill? YIKES! Now that you're home those 6 lbs will come off not to worry. Getting back on track always helps me. When you're visiting it's hard to say no to pies, cookies, cakes..etc Take care

I've missed you posting Barbara. You have been busy. I am sitting here this evening with my hair still not combed, baggy clothes on and no make-up and am in my element. Today is the 1st day I have been able to be home without going anywhere in days and days. It has been wonderful. The rest of my week is full but today I have been able to catch up on my letter writing for Home Bound Meals and Bible study. I was hoping to get more done but I am pleased that I got what I did completed. Apple pie, love it!! My children love it when I make them!! It is that time of year!!! Blessings, Linda
