Quilt With Us

I just am not getting to my quilting - seems like whenever I plan to take the day sewing - something comes up.  Was going to sew yesterday - Sunday - but my daughter called and they were taking her Father out for his birthday - #75 - so I meet them. Baked him some peanut butter cookies - that was always his favorite and he seemed to appreciate them.

Friday is my Sister's birthday - gotta get her present together and in the mail tomorrow.  And want to put together an eyeglass chain for a friend this week.  Just not enough hours in a day!!

Keep thinking I am just going to sew this evening - then remember that I have to stop at the grocery store on the way home, my plants need some water (they look so sad), need to vacuum the living room (don't remember when I did last - thank goodness for a carpet sweeper),  a load of laundry needs to be done.......and on it goes and my itsy, bitsy bedroom could use some going over.  Still think I am just going to sew and make that eyeglass chain for Holly.  Sounds like a lot more fun!!

It sure can be frustrating to have our sewing times interrupted.  There have been times lately when I just said I was going in to my quilt studio & to only interrupt me if the house was on fire!  LOL

I can relate Barb, It never seems to fail when I am all geared up to get at one of my sewing projects I get a bunch of interruptions. And then there are days, I don't want to even look at my machine and no one calls or comes in.

Just think of the wonderful gifts of love that you have shared. I too, got stuck having to go to work for a friend who's gal friday is in the hospital ..needless to say, I missed a full day of putting together blocks for a triple Irish Chain while it rained. Today I'm missing a guild lecture given by Sandra Dorrebecker, quilt maker and cerified AQS judge. I was hoping that I could have been there to hear her points on preparing quilts for judging. Also was hoping to make up  a golf game needed to be played before next Monday (on a league). Also working the rest of the week at the office because someone else is on vacation. Sometimes our best laid plans often do go awry, even in the best of times.
