Quilt With Us

My daughter doesn't quilt, but she does amazing counted cross stitch.  Way back when, she started this series of calendar snowmen.  It took a while - she got a master's, husband, and baby in the meantime but they are all finished and she asked if I could sash them into a quilt.  It turned out so cute I had to share.

All the blocks are cute but I think August and September are my favorites:

She did a great job!

As one who did counted cross stitch for years and years I can appreciate all the hours that went into this project. You did a great job putting them into a quilt. It is beautiful! I still love doing the cross stitching, but don't do as much since I took up quilting. There just aren't enough hours in the day to accomplish all I want to do.

Isn't teamwork wonderful?  Cute, cute, cute!  I think the penguin in each one is adorable!  AND I recognize that background fabric.  I have some just like it (or pretty close) in my Alaska Homestead quilt.

I used to be a prolific c. cross-stitcher before my quilting days.  I liked that it was hand work, portable, and precise.  (No Type A issues here...ahem.)

I love, love, love this quilt! I used to be addicted to cross stitch before I became addicted to quilting. Lately I have been thinking about starting to do some again. Tell your dd I said "Atta Girl" for sticking with this project within everything else she had going on.

Carol thanks for sharing, your daughters work is amazing and I salute her because I don't have the patience to do that kind of work.  I love to quilt but cross stitch takes a lot of time and effort.  You two make a great combination.  You did her blocks proud momma!!!!!!  The quilt is precious!!!
