Quilt With Us

A very dear friend of the family passed a few years ago. Her daughter contacted me to help finish off a cross stitch project that Melley had stitched. There's a baby coming in November, that she thought would be the perfect gift from their great grandmother. I was thrilled to do this for the family. Melley lived in Waterloo,NY the home of women's rights. Melley in her hayday would lead protests and lectured on women's rights. Her son lived in Chicago, he opened the newspaper only to see a picture of his mother being arrested!!! Can you see why I loved this lady!!!!She lived to be 88... beside the fact she smoked like a chimney. She raised 6 of the craziest, successful kids alive, so I could understand why she smoked!

I think she would be pleased to know her beautiful work will go to her great grand child.

Pam, seeing that pic and reading about your friend brought tears to my eyes.  I so very much admire women who are willing to go to jail to stick up for women's rights!  The new baby is going to have many happy dreams while sleeping under that quilt.
