Quilt With Us

I love quilt retreat. I am not smart enough to take a reasonable number of projects to work on. No not me. I fill the trunk of the car with my machine and boxes of UFO's. This year though I did a pretty good job of focusing on the applique borders for a long term project. My goal is to get them sewn onto my center so my BFF can help me baste it before she scoots out for the winter.

Next week is my deadline. Ooops, I'd better get back to work.

That's impressive...says a lot about the group!

I am lucky. My BFF organizes the retreat. She starting doing it 20+ years ago. We started Friday night after the husbands got home to stay with the kids. It ended Sunday afternoon. Many sewers worked all night. It kept growing. This most recent retreat had 70 sewers. We took over the motel. As for travel, I live a mile from it and still spent the nights at the motel. Who wants to go home and possibly miss something? Many of the quilters travel more than 200 miles to get there. Some 400 and several came from out of state.

Every year I want to go to a fall retreat near me but never seem to make it. All of my quilting buddies go a few times a year and always have a blast!
I hope you get your project done in time!

I've never done a quilt retreat...always seems like something else is scheduled. Sounds like great fun...

This month is flying by, Christmas is knocking on the door!

Good plan!  I always try to bring a focus project to a retreat, BUT I provide myself with alternatives, just in case.  And if there is shopping involved, well, all bets are off!  Glad to hear you had a good time, and good luck with your finish plans.

The nice thing about bringing a lot of UFOs along is you are not stuck working on a project you might not be in the mood to work on so you did the smart thing!

Quilt retreats are wonderful!  It's been way too long since I've indulged myself that way.  Keep going on that project...BFF help is priceless.  (And, we're excited to see this (:-D )

Sounds like great fun, and progress was made as well.  Always a good feeling.  We'll look forward to seeing pictures.
