Quilt With Us

So I started the "Quilt in a Day" yesterday. Well if my quilt was 3 blocks I guess I would have it done. I almost finished 8 squares. After taking my son to school this morning I got up and finished the 5 squares I was working on. That means 28 to go. I am making this quilt for my brother and his wife. They are into neutrals so I thought I would make a brown quilt. I was not so motivated to do that but I have found some absolutely beautiful material and it is going together just so nicely. I think it is going to be another one of those I do not want to give away. The pattern is a 4 color dark/light log cabin. I have 3 different ways I might want to put it together but can't decide which one to actually pick. I guess I need to get off of here got so much to do. Gonna open up the house and let the cool day in and see if I can get more than 8 squares done today.

Thansk to everyone for their input and nice words. Hope to get it done real soon so I can see the finished result.

I did a" log cabin in a day" took a class and we used the Eleanor Burns pattern. At the end of 8 hours I was exhausted! and I did get help to tie it, I had to sew the binding at home. that was all I had left after 8 hours of working like there was no tomorrow. lol

Monika, I love you log cabin and the colours. It is gorgeous. I don't think it would matter which pattern you use, it will be beautiful. Looking forward to seeing a picture of the finished project. I don't think there is anyway you could do that in a day. I know I definitely could not.

oooh! I like that. I am also fond of the cross hatch pattern. Can't wait to see the pictures of the finished project and hear if you decided to make one for yourself.

I agree- the crosshatch looks great. The colors are gorgeous. Are there really quilt in one day patterns? I think, even with kits, that these people must be tied to the sewing machine with a "soux' sewer to help if they actually get any quilt done in a day. Maybe their days are like God's. "One day in the house of the Lord is like a thousand"-LOL- Have a good 'day'

I vote for the Crosshatch IF you're taking votes lol. I can understand your falling in love with the brown -both are gorgeous. It is going to be hard to part with; it's going to be a lovely quilt whichever way you go.

So these are the two designs that I can not decide on doing.

Ok here is the square I am working with. So far I have not gotten to sew. I have gotten all the strips cut, I hope :)

It is so fun when that excitement takes hold as the quilt comes together better than what you originally thought. I know the feeling of not wanting to give it away after it is finished. I think it goes with the territory. At least it does with my quilt obsession. I made a little tote that I thought I'd give my girl for Christmas, but I'm not sure I can part with it!
