The Things I'm Thankful For!


In some respects, it's been a rough year around here. We all have our own crosses to bear. I'm still job hunting after more than 18 months, work for DH has been hard to come by most of this year, money is tight, (isn't it always?) we've lost several family members this last year, and a beloved dog just a few weeks ago. Yet, as I sat last night stitching the binding on this comforter I made for my son for Christmas (he likes it 'puffy' not quilted!) I am very thankful for the things in my life that are so good! I have a warm, dry roof over my head, although we aren't financially 'comfortable' yet, our bills are paid. I have a loving husband who likes to sit and talk to me with his feet tucked up under the quilt I am working on. My children and grandchildren are happy and healthy, and my kitties all love to snuggle on my quilts and keep us both warm while I work. I am content. I may not have everything I want, but I have everything I need! And for those blessings, I am truly THANKFUL!

Abraham Lincoln said that most people are about as happy as they make up their minds to be. I'm glad you made up your mind to be happy. Blessings right back at you!

That is a very thankful attitude, and it couldn't have been said better. I am sure many many people feel the same way you do. I know I do.

I have to stop often and count my blessings also. A few more dollars a month would sure take the pressure off at times but I'm not as bad off as others and I thank God for having my health. It's my prayer that 2011 will be better for you and that you and dh will find steady work.

You do have much to be thankful for...we all need to stop and take inventory, and not go further into debt on Friday!
