Quilt With Us

In some respects, it's been a rough year around here. We all have our own crosses to bear. I'm still job hunting after more than 18 months, work for DH has been hard to come by most of this year, money is tight, (isn't it always?) we've lost several family members this last year, and a beloved dog just a few weeks ago. Yet, as I sat last night stitching the binding on this comforter I made for my son for Christmas (he likes it 'puffy' not quilted!) I am very thankful for the things in my life that are so good! I have a warm, dry roof over my head, although we aren't financially 'comfortable' yet, our bills are paid. I have a loving husband who likes to sit and talk to me with his feet tucked up under the quilt I am working on. My children and grandchildren are happy and healthy, and my kitties all love to snuggle on my quilts and keep us both warm while I work. I am content. I may not have everything I want, but I have everything I need! And for those blessings, I am truly THANKFUL!

Hope everyone of you has a BLESSED THANKSGIVING!

Your words rang true with me too Cheryl. I may not have everything I want, but I have everything I need. Although I do wish I wasn't in the hole financially (hard to look forward to Christmas) and I do wonder what it's like to be blessed with a husband and children. I'm just blessed with other people's children every year and lots of furry and feathery "people" bless my life.

You do have much to ge thankful and grateful for. That's exactly what I always told my children growing up. You may not have all you want, but you have all you need. That's still true today, even tho, we are financially stable. I am thankful for our health and our family's health and grateful that we have what we need. Happy THanksgiving.

Me too! Was laid off from a great job 18 months ago. Seems nobody wants to hire "older" workers. I'm so thankful for my wonderful son who supports me both personally and financially. He tells me I'm the one who guided his career choice that made him able to contribute to my well being. I thank The Good Lord for another year with my family and friends.
