Quilt With Us

Time to sew, OH! and another Santa sighting!

Hi All!  I am finally caught up with customer Christmas quilts, and even managed to fit in a couple "rush" orders.  Yesterday I received a very encouraging email.  The owner of a quilt shop I have been going to for years, and have had my business cards in, emailed me yesterday and asked if I would be interested in quilting their BOM quilt's.  It comes with me being the first LAQ they suggest when customers are searching for one, and a shop discount!  I'm very excited and flattered that she picked me!

Santa's on the move!  He is now driving a new Jeep and last seen driving around the Nature Preserve!  Maybe he's on the hunt for new Reindeer?

On to my latest project.  These placemats are so much fun and so simple!  I found the dowloadable pattern online and just HAD to have it!  They are a quilt as you go.  The pattern calls to roll the backing to the front to make the binding but I tried it and YUCK!  So this one is done with the regular binding technique.  If you are searching for a quick fun gift you should try these!

Thank you Carol Ann, yes the bow is a napkin!
Thank you Donna, I got that fabric a while back and never had just the right project but this worked!!
PQ Thank you, they are so quick and once you get on a roll you just keep thinking of how many people you could make them for!
Barb, Yes it does feel good, I am my own worst enemy when it comes to my quilting and constantly judging my work to more seasoned quilters and always feel like my work is just "ok". The pattern is called Pretty Package Placemats. I found it on Annie's catalog but when I went to find it for you I couldn't find it, so on the back of the pattern the website is: www.dragonflyfiberart.com

Congratulations on the quilt shop offer for quilting the BOMs. Sounds like you are going to be one busy lady! Love the placemat - so cute with the napkin bow. Great choice of fabric.

Placemats turned out great -- I assume that's a napkin made up like a bow?  I'm with you on backing rolled over to the front for binding -- never worked well for me.

Congrats (I think) on the long-arm quilting gig!

YES Pam, it feels great, I was getting a little overwhelmed, but was my own fault for taking on more for the rush orders.

Thank you Janet, I am excited about it! The picture on the pattern also has them made up with Birthday fabric with balloons, and they are equally as cute!

Congratulations on getting the job quilting the shop's BOMs.  That is very flattering.  I love the placemat!  They would be cute done up with birthday fabric too.
