Quilt With Us

Yesterday I went to visit my friend at her farm. It is a very special place for me. Both sets of grandparents had farms and I enjoyed all the time spent at each one. This is my only chance to "get in touch with my roots" on a regular basis and I treasure it.

Her (and her husband's) farm is on top of a mountain (I'm very mountain oriented, hehe). The view off of her huge back porch is splendiferous. It is a place where all cares and troubles can slip away and life is beautiful.

Sooooo, we sat on her back porch and since the weather did not cooperate we braced for the elements. It was raining and dreary......no matter, we bundled up in afghans and sweaters and took mugs of hot coffee out with us and we solved the world's problems for about 3 hours. When it would rain, the sound of the rain was comforting. We got to watch a 3 day old calf scamper around the meadow. I always tell her that when life gets me down a good whiff of cow poop puts me back on the right track!!! :)

I am so very thankful that God put Silvia in my life. She is one of my primary exhorters and encouragers.
We have the sister kind of friendship.....those of you who have a sister-friend knows what I am talking about...those of you who don't have one, I pray that you get one.

The sun is shining today but it is only 46 degrees at present (10:00 a.m.) I guess one of these days the weather will get back in the groove......won't it?

My little grandson is coming to play today while his parents take Miss Libby for her pre-op visit at Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh. She will be having lengthy knee surgery June 1......more on that later.

Blessings to all,

Your visit to the farm sounds wonderful, despite the weather. The outdoors can lift my spirits faster than almost anything else (except perhaps a hug from my boys). I, too, have a sister-friend or two, plus a twin sister, and those are cherished relationships.
