Quilt With Us

Early tomorrow morning my husband and I and 3 other couples are leaving for Hawaii. It'll be great to leave icy northern Wisconsin for warm weather. No quilting for a while. Hopefully I'll have a chance to catch up on some reading on the beach. My friend Linda and I have almost finished The Very Hungry Caterpillar quilts. They have been a fun project and great for children who love the book by Eric Carle. Our next project is going to the Underground Railroad quilt. It sure is nice to have Linda as a conscience to keep me on task with rpojects.

I finally found someone in these blogs who lives nearly as far north as I do. I live about 1 hour 15 minutes further north from you off hwy 53 in Hawthorne, Wi 20 miles south of Superior. I am not a "frequent blogger" and don't read others too often so never catch up on all of them as takes too much time. I love quilting! and visiting quilt shops. When I have been in Rice Lake I have never been able to find the quilt shop; now I discovered it is off the main street on a side street. Will visit it next time I'm down there. Have you visited shops up this way? Trego has Thimbles but have not stopped there. The Little Gift House in Solon Springs is wonderful. Kunerts Creations in Gordon has fabric and lots of yarn, too. Schoolhouse Quilts in Superior is good, too, but I haven't stopped there. Then there are several shops in Duluth, Mn. Duluth has the Minnesota Quilt Guild show every 3rd year; might be due there this year. It is fantastic!!! I need to broaden my quilting horizons so plan a shop hop one day or more to increase my stash and see what I've been missing in all these shops. Hope your time in Hawaii was fantastic and warm.

Bon Voyage! I hope you have a wonderful trip and the shock of returning to winter doesn't hit you too hard.
