Quilt With Us

congrats to BJ on her quilt touring the country and to Pam for her post as well.   As for me, well I am sitting in a small RV.  We finally sold the house.  My other half is still waiting for L & I to do something about his back.  We didn't get as much out of our house as we expected to due to some shifty work by the mortgage company.  I am still working but between the 2 of us we just aren't getting enough to afford even an apartment in our area. Because this RV is so small, I just don't have the room to work on any of my quilts.  I've even tried hand quilting the last quilt for Aiden that I posted but there just isn't enough room.   We are hoping to get a 5th wheel camper soon and wait out the next 4 years until I retire from work, then it's out of the state of Washington.  Keep posting, I am reading the posts.

I don't know how anyone can afford to live on the west coast. Look at all the problems with homeless in the big cities. No affordable housing. Fl. is going to be the same. Normal jobs like teachers, nurses, firemen, etc. can't afford these resort areas. Ft Myers is talking about building a dorm for teachers...really? Sure hope things improve for you soon.

Goodness!  I really do hope things improve quickly and you at least have enough room to quilt.  Right now, I am feeling downright spoiled without the worries that you have.

My parents lived in a 5th wheel camper for a year while traveling around the US.  The only complaint my mom had was the fact that she was not able (maybe allowed?) to drive my dad's truck so she was kind of a captive audience so to speak.  She loved it otherwise and it was fairly roomy.  The cost of real estate in the west coast states is getting to be ridiculous!  Don't know how anyone could afford to buy a house there.

Kathy, nice to hear from you. I hope things change for the better with you. I can sympathize with you concerning the sale of your house. I feel the same way about Car Dealers. They are like the mortgage company they are shifty and you don't know you have been had until you have signed on the dotted line. I sold my house last Spring. I took a big loss but it had been on the market for a long time and I just wanted to unload it. I hope things get better for you soon.
