Quilt With Us

My husband, daughter, 2 grandsons & I drove from Mid-Missouri to Minneapolis yesterday to attend our oldest daughter's wedding tomorrow.  Almost immediately upon crossing the border from Iowa to MN, we found a lot of that horrible white stuff on the ground along with frigid temps and strong winds.  Oddly, the further north we drove in MN the less of that horrible white stuff we saw, but it is still very cold.  I forgot to bring my coat so we had to stop for me to buy another one.  Isn't this the end of March?!

North of MN is me.. Very little snow, this year, & no flooding. Will be farmers delight year, with rain coming in April.

We arrived home safely about 8:00 tonight.  It was extremely windy driving down Int 35 from south of Minneapolis until we hit the MO border.  There were times when I was afraid I was going to be blown right off the highway!  The wedding was absolutely beautiful and we love our new son-in-law.  We had not seen our daughter & 2 granddaughters in 7 yrs so it was so good to catch up with everyone.  We all vowed not to let that much time go by again without seeing each other.  I'm happy to be home, in my jammies, and playing on my computer though.  This next week is going to be spent in my sewing room until I get everything done that has a deadline on it with the exception of eating, sleeping & other necessities of course.

Just returned from visiting my mother for two weeks and have seen more snow in one week than I have all winter.  Yes, it is cold in the north central states, I remember snow on Mother's Day.  Even cancelled church one year on Palm Sunday (mid-April) because of a blizzard.  I never go to MN without my leather coat, as it can be chilly even in August!

Send some of that "horrible white stuff" to us. One of the local resorts has cut out night skiing because they have to use that time to make snow.

We got 3 inches of snow the other day, and it was snowing this morning. Thankfully the sun is out and warmed the ground enough to melt it. It's supposed to be a whopping high of 35 tomorrow. The Chicago quilt show is tomorrow so I will be forgetting all about the weather while I'm cozy warm in quilt show heaven!

I'm sure the wedding will be beautiful, and hopefully you will share photos! Safe travels on your way home!

We have snow on the ground this morning in western Nebraska, too.  It's hard to know how to dress in the mornings.  Some days we have mild temps and other days it is just downright cold.  Hopefully, since it is so late in the season,  you found a coat on sale.  :)
