Quilt With Us

December 23, 2015.

I go outside to fill the bird feeders.  I turn around, and this is what I see:

The Forsythia is in bloom.

As quilters know, yellow is a real eye catcher, so I could not miss these tiny blooms.

Wait for it.....W-a-i-t.........it will be here, it's just taking it's sweet ol time. Actually I am enjoying our 75* weather. We have rain...but it could be S**W...Remember that's where we came from, S**W Country...I don't even want to say the words! LOL!  Merry Christmas!

I fear we are going to have an out like a lamb in like a lion 2016. I would have liked a little snow today for a white Christmas, but I will take this weather over a blizzard or the nasty tornados that went through yesterday. Prayers to those who were involved.

I have Dutch Iris shoots in my yard that are 4" tall. The grass is so green! On the other hand, it's been pouring rain the last few days. Much as I'd love a white Christmas, it would have been a blizzard if this had been snow.

Crazy weather!  I'm seeing little shoots popping out of the ground in the flower beds close to the house.  Boy are they in for a reality check when these crazy temps drop again.  Merry Christmas!

Well, it does make winter easier; but as the west coast learned during the last four years, it's "pay me now, or pay me later!"   We are grateful for the plentiful snowfall in northern California this winter!  At last our reservoirs should fill.

I hear you...we have cherry blossoms out! We will be 70 tomorrow on Christmas Eve in Upstate NY! They drained down our lake this winter to fix the dam...we may not have water at our dock this Spring! Can't control the weather. Feel sorry for the people in the NW...been so wet. I'm going to enjoy it, much easier driving and walking!!

I think Mother Nature has her months mixed up just like a newborn baby gets its days & nights mixed up!  If I didn't know better, I would swear it was March or April.
