Quilt With Us

I've seen several comments about a negative post, but don't see it, so it must have been deleted. Please allow me to put my 2 cents in. This is not a democratic site - CT (that's me) gets to make the rules. And my rule is that there are no rules, unless I see something getting out of hand.

This site is a community meeting place for quilters. To me, that means we share what we love - family sagas, health issues, pet stories, and most of all, quilting. Each day, for each person, that list will vary in importance. Same goes for photos.

Personally, I am thrilled at what this site has become, with no rules, other than those of common sense and courtesy. It's exactly what I dreamed it would be, and that is only because of all of us and how we choose to participate. Thank you, everyone, for making it such a wonderful place to visit every day (or every hour).

So officially, non quilt posts and photos are fine, welcome even. By my count, well over 90% of the photos are quilt specific and the rest can be quickly skipped if I'm not interested.

Hi Karen: Thanks for providing this site for the quilting community. I have never been involved with anything online like this, but I'm really impressed with the members. I feel very inspired and encouraged by the comments and photos. I do feel challenged to improve my quilting skills and to stretch my imagination after seeing so much creativity on this site. Good positive energy!!!

I have to admit that I was a little hesitant to join another online quilting community, but I have been pleasantly surprised with this one. I love it because I feel like I can post and will not be attacked. I have definitely made new online friends with people all around our great country and it's interesting to hear what they have to say about their part of their world. I also love the contact with our experts, beginners and in-betweeners. I'm glad to be part of this quilting community. :)

I am so glad I did not see a negative post, if indeed it was meant as such. Computer generated words lack the expressions that we see on a face when talking directly to & seeing someone. I would like to think that it was not meant as negative, as Karen pointed out.

I have received such an outpouring of kindness in my recent loss that I cannot perceive a single soul here as being negative. People that I have never even shared a single post with was kind enough to take time to offer sympathy & kindness. This forum seemed to offer & wrap it's collective arms around me to give me strength & courage to face another day. They still are doing that!

The general all around mood here is simply wonderful! I love the fact I can share a "down day" as quickly as an "up day" with the "Boss Lady's" blessings.

Thank you, Karen, for providing a wonderful environment for us to share with other quilters! Riley

Thank you everyone, for being so supportive. I thought I should mention that who ever made the post in question might not have intended a negative comment. You should all feel free to express your opinion if you see something that feels inappropriate, but if you're not sure, you can email me privately to ask my opinion. I answer all the CT Admin email, as well as my own.

Thank you, Karen. I was having the same thoughts and felt a little worried that we may lose the "human" side of our blogs. After all, if we weren't human, what would our quilts be like? Or would there be any quilts at all? I, for one, love reading and sharing the everyday goings on of all our members. Let's keep it just the way it is! Lana

Karen, I also have enjoyed this site very much. I have met a lot of very nice people this way and look forward to checking in every day or two to see what is happening. Thank you so much for this opportunity!
