Quilt With Us

The baby for which this quilt top is made is now 6 days overdue.  If I hurry, I might be able to finish it before he arrives!

It is made of western fabrics - browns, oranges, and blues, according to momma's preference.  It will finish at roughly 42 x 50.  The delectable mountains half-blocks are 4.5 x 6 finished.  I'll just machine quilt this one as simply as possible.  I haven't pieced a back yet.  The setting reminds me of woven saddle blankets, and that's the look I was going for.  The farther away from it you stand, the more the pattern shows up (the better it looks).  A few of my neutrals look a little dark to me in pictures, but I really like it overall.

That's great! There will be lots of nap time and baby-sitting time when you can finish the quilt!

It is basted, so despite my procrastination efforts, progress is being made a little bit at a time.  :D

Dena Dale, Thank you.  Momma and baby are both doing well.  He made his appearance on Saturday.

What a great quilt! I love the way you've used the colors in a kind of random way, while still maintaining the integrity of the design by thoughtful use of value. Well done!

I hope the baby has arrived and that all is well for mum and babe!

Well, except me.  That ship has sailed... ;)   I never thought our family was all that big, as far as some go.  My folks just had 4 kids and 12 grandkids.  But that generation seems to be hitting their stride.  We just heard that another one should arrive in May.  I think that will make great-grand #16.

Thanks, Barbara.  It is basted, so in spite of my gift of procrastination, it is slowly getting finished.

Absolutely gorgeous! It will be loved for ages.

(you are really cranking out the baby quilts--is everyone you know pregnant?)

Thanks, Shannon.  Baby arrived last night and he and momma are both doing well.  I have found a piece of yardage (gasp!) for the back.  :)

Way to go!  Fat quarter queen has me laughing.  I am very sure she is referring to your fabric stash!
