Hello there.....I was just admiring the sun dress you made for your granddaughter. I was wondering if you used a pattern and if you would mind telling me where you got it.....it is so darn cute! I too have a granddaughter who is 4½ (Aubrey). She gets so excited when I finish a dress for her. Thank you! Marie
I'm still in awe that complete strangers are coming together to help make my wish come true...it brings tears to my eyes every time I think about it...you are amazing, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart!
The outfits you make for Miss Bailey are fabulous. I also make dresses for my DGD Amelia, and her dolls. I'm wondering if you'd be interested in some dress patterns for up to size 6. My Amelia is now into 7's so I am getting rid of some patterns (there are a few costume ones). Please let me know and I'll be glad to send them to you.
BJ I just remembered I can post a message here for you. I will go to the library to send a picture to you of my piece for the swap. Am having a hard time coming up with a name for it. Hope to think of one before posting it to you. Will also send my address to Ally. I had a lot of fun making this one and am happy with the results. I hope Denise enjoys it. Thanks for doing this swap. I do enjoy being a part of these. It's amazing to see the talent that everyone has. Can't wait to see all the different pieces!
Good morning! Thank you for your kind words on my owl quilt. I was so thrilled that my daughter LOVE IT! Now on to finishing a quilt for our youngest daughter and a play mat for our granddaughter out of the clothes the girls grew up in.
I pray you are having a WONDERFUL WEEKEND! Blessings to you!
dear bj, thank you for the kind note and hug. this is such a wonderful blog. it is the only one i belong to (bad grammar i know :) i feel very well. i am walking much more than i could before and hope to continue on my wellness journey in this way.
i have been following your posts and admire your resilience and ability to pick up and move when you need to. your new environment sounds wonderful. i imagine you have some beautiful surroundings. as long as the financial stress is under control. i will retire as of the end of Nov. I am sad about it but the past year has not allowed me to keep up the pace needed for teaching kids. I hope to do some tutoring in the community which pays well and keeps me working with kids which i love. not so big on the math but i love teaching reading LOL.
wishing continued success in your new move and endeavours. p.s. i love your sewing gifts for bailey and hope i can do that too some day (for my own gbaby, not yours LOL).
Yes, by all means get flood insurance! I live on the Sacramento River, which is deep and cold and deceptively placid in the summer, but in rainy season, it can get wild, even with the big dam upstream. We've never had a claim with our flood insurance, but I would never not have it! My rose garden was flooded one year and our three-sectioned composter disappeared somewhere downstream.
I don't know where this dream I had came from. I must have been in Washington where my DH picked me up at a gathering of sorts. We were on the street and began talking with a couple who invited us to see the house they just moved into. While in the bedroom I realized I was in your "new" house and there you were. We introduced ourselves and I woke up. Wish it had been for real as I would love to meet an online quilting friend. Who knows; maybe that will happen someday.
Thanks, BJ, for your kind comment on my crazy quilt. It was a stretch for me, working without a pattern, but also rather freeing. Sometimes, I felt like I ripped out as many stitches as I left in! I love to combine quilting and family history when I'm able.
I'm not on too often, however best wishes on your move! I'm glad your husband got a job. My daughter, who is single, has been in the same position and she started a new job last week. We were really happy for her. She is working for an international company headquartered in Germany, so as part of her employment she will be traveling there with the possibility to also go to Switzerland and China.
On a personal note, I found out what the pain in my hip region is. My hip is bone on bone, the doctor said when I'm ready call and they'll do a hip replacement. I find I tire out more easily these days. Still taking care of the 3-yr old grandson. He is such a little blessing.
