Your quilts and bags are really charming--lovely!! Thank you for your encouraging comments, I appreciate them.
Is your embroidery by hand? I have a very special friend in the Netherlands--she visits me every other year during Quilt Festival, and I've visited her 6 times--we've traveled over most of that lovely country, and I've visited her friends there--so, I feel a real tie to your "Dutch" heritage!!
BJ, That sounds just perfect. I am excited for my mom. Thank you so much! I will send you the money when I return around the 9th of June. We can talk of all of that when I get back... where and how you want it. HA! Thanks BJ! Hugs Morgan
Tea is set up as a buffet at the Jekyll Island Club (you can google their website--it's beautiful). They always have blueberry scones, lemon curd, clotted crem and strawberry jam. There are finger sandwiches--usually 6 or 8 kinds. My favorite is a cucumber sandwich, but the cucumbers are diced and mixed with some kind of creamy dressing. They also have smoked salmon, chicken salad, tomato and cheese, and a couple of others. Their pastries are beatuiful and delicious--there ar always tiny lemon tarts, something wickedly chocolate, and the most beautiful petit fours. They have many kinds of tea. One time when we were there, the hostess noticed Katie wasn't drinking her hot tea and asked if she could get her something else. They didn't normally have the iced tea she asked for, but the hostess soon reappeared with a pitcher of tea--they had sent one of the waiters to another of the on-site restaurants to get her iced tea. That attitude is one of the things we love about having tea there. We also always splurge on valet parking, not really because we have to, but because it makes the afternoon seem even more luxurious.
My daughter and i are planning a tea trip in the next few weeks to our favorite place for tea. We live about an hour from the Jekyll Island Club on (obviously) Jekyll Island. it's a barrier island and the hotel where people like the Vanderbiltts spent their winters. It's beautiful, as are the "cottages." Every time we've gone, it has rained. It gives the afternoon a cozy, quiet atmosphere. Tea is served in the sunroom off the main dining room. Everything is exquisitely beautiful and absolutely delicious. Katie will be leaving for college in August, so this is, in a way, a "one last time" thing. But i would imagine that we will continue this tradition which began with her first real tea party when she was a tiny little girl.
BJ Yes, I do still want you to make one for me. Yet, could you wait until after my honeymoon. I will be going June 2, going to be away for about 7 days. After I get back, I will send you the money and shipping... and you can start it sometime around then, if it is good for you. My mom and dad have an Ann. very soon and I am going to buy them all sorts of goodies and fill up a nice basket. They love to read, so fill it up with some books, favorite cookies, and puzzles as my dad loves to do them, the kind that are 1000, or more pieces. You get the idea..., I will give that to my mom, and she will love it. Since she is learning to sew.
Oh if you have anything in blue prints... That would be great. My mom's favorite colors. If not then what you used already will be just fine! I hope this will work out for you. I am excited for my mom. Really, it is for my mom. I am going to be very busy, with some swaps and will not have time until July. Parents ANN is before that. 57 years for them…Thank you BJ and again thanks for the pattern. Hugs Morgan
BJ, Thank you so very much. You are so sweet and you have such a big heart, and I want to say, that if you could make me one and you can tell me how much… as I want one for my mom. She needs something like this…and even though you gave me the pattern…. I must say I would not get to it until July. I want one all made up. You can tell me all the stuff to that later. Price and all. I am very thankful to you, and in July, I will be clear of some swaps I am doing right now. Then I will make a few of those. BJ you do great work…and it is so nice to know you. Hugs Morgan
BJ, I just saw your pattern - that is so extremely generous of you! Thank you. I haven't looked closely yet, but it looks quite professionally put together!

BJ, Thank you so much for the recipe! I can't wait to try it. My lavender plant hasn' popped its flowers yet, but when it does, I intend to harvest some to try this cake, it sounds delicious! Thanks again!
BJ--just popped over to say hello. Your name and face appear so often with a word of encouragement and a promise of prayer. Thanking God for you. Love the pansies. As the possessor of 10 brown thumbs, the only thing i'm good at in the garden is killing things. Now if only i could get it to work on the weeds instead of the flowers. . . .
I think I can just use that tractor of your's and turn it into an applique project. Thank you for offering ... but don't waste time on sending me the paper piecing pattern if you have to work on it. I really appreciate it, but just the picture of Danie'ls quilt on your page is a great inspiration for my own! Thank you.
Well, having had the opportunity to enjoy that view during several years, I'm sure you haven't forgotten it. I believe such nice memories seep into our soul and make us better, happier persons.
Your dollhouses are adorable. Thank you for replying.
Sounds basic enough for me.. great idea. Thanks!
Oh, by the way, I purchased some vinyl for the Take along sewing tote, I can't say I've done any sewing with this but I really like the way you've encorporated it into the tote.. so I'm going to give it a whirl! Thanks again, I'll be posting pics in the future... Enjoy your day!
Thanks for the tip on sewing the vinyl. I am not going to get started this week on the tote as I have 3 more quilts on the shelf in a fresh cut and waiting stage...............
Thanks sew much for the info on the pinkers. I had thought that had seen all the different tools as my Mom was an alterationist for J.C.Penney when I was in school and it wasn't much that I let slip by me. You don't have to search for any more info on them..As for the pattern for the sewing tote ,I thank you for it and I just finished printing it out. After you told me about the clear vinyl I remember buying some at WalMart to cover my tablecloth at Thankgiving time. I had made new ones and did not want them to get stains. I guess I wasn't thinking --I didn't think you could sew that stuff,I figured it would be like making it perforated so it could tear easier...............
Wow! Thank you so much for sending me the pattern! I look forward to giving it a try. Just this week I was looking for a pattern for a fabric sewing caddy for my EPP project. Your timing was perfect!
Hi, BJ. I would actually like to purchase a finished one. If you want to email me at scaples23@comcast.net we can work it out if you don't want to do it here. If I can afford them, I might need 3, no big hurry. Thanks!!!
