Your quilts and all are beautiful! I like to do purses and would like to know if the 3rd and 4th purses are a pattern. I bought a fat quarter of Rte 66 and a fat quarter of Texas flag with bluebonnets while we were visiting children in Texas. That pattern would be good for them. Our baked potato bag is worn out so now have to make a new one and have charity "blankies" to finish by Friday. Best get busy! Carolyn
Happy May Day to you! BJ, don't tell me you like Hydrangeas too! They have been my favorite since I was a child. We've always had them where ever we lived. I have a gigantic Nikko Blue and two smaller pink and lavender mix.
You have beautiful quilts and I love the variety of your totes and purses!! I have always wanted to do a Mariners Compass - guess it kinda scares me!! And I love your Cross quilt - what pattern is it??
BJ, I just read your profile. We have a lot in common. First of all my husband and I plane to retire to Maryland eastern shore. I just bought 2 Adirondack chairs for my front porch. I love tea, Jasmine being my favorite and there is no other chocolate besides dark!
You are awesome bj. my spools are 5 1/2 " around 2 1/2 " tall and 1 1/2" across but i do have some smaller spools if you could make different size holders inside the bag or with elastic that i could stretch around different size spools. or maybe even a place i could put a few bobbins. i use cone thread and fill bobbins up to carry with me. need a place to hold my scissors, needles, stick pins , thimble, maybe a small pin cusion. a pocket to store english paper pieces i will be working on. fabric color makes no difference. i love scrap quilts so a scrap sewing kit would look great. i also like bright spring colors or americana. i love it all. and maybe a small place to put a small note pad and pencil to jot down some notes if a quilt pops in my head. if this could all zip up in one bag and fit in my purse it would be great. my purse is pretty large. thank you so much bj keep in touch i try to check this site once a day.
If you ever make a take along sewing kit I would be interested in buying it. I am not good at making bags or purses but have been looking for a sewing kit that would hold my epp projects. something small I could put in my purse. Something that would hold my thread a few pins a spool of thread a pair of scissors and a pocket to put a few of my epp pieces that I can hand stitch on the go.http://www.sewthankful.com/SewOnTheGoPattern.html Like this but I can't seem to follow directions very good to make it. If you make anything like this please let me know thank you
BJ, you are one very busy lady! I just saw all your pictures and the quilts, totes, vests.......... everything is wonderful! Besides all that you care for your parents, as I said one very busy and special lady!
Thanks for sharing!
Hi BJ - Thank you for your nice comments. I just took a look at all your quilting, wow! I especially love the Jane Austen one. I love all the different fabric bags too. I have a question on the one called "Love of Flowers". It's kinda hard to tell from the picture, but it looks like a technique I used on several of mine, where you cut out squares and fuse to the fabric and then make your 1/4 inch seams. Does that make any sense? I took a class in Alaska with the instructor that actually created the fuse, fold and stitch method. Here name is Dina Pappas. So, what are you working on now?
BJ, Thank you so much for all you posted on my page. It is so true, God is great! I have had a very calm day today. I wrote a list and did everything on the list. I finally was able to get all of my wash done... and cleaned the house and changed the sheets on the beds. It has been all very calming here today. Husband is on his way home from work, and I am looking forward to seeing him. He and I just see each other two days a week. We do walkie-talkie off and on during the day. I am so glad he is taking Jeff in the morning. I will chat with you again and much longer... yet I wanted to say Hi! In addition, thank you for your kind words and prayers for us. Hugs Morgan
Hi BJ, I just read your comment on the question of the flying geese as a border for Patricia's quilt. I love what you said about "auditioning" a fabric. That describes it so perfectly! And I just looked at your photos, WOW!!!
Thanks for the compliments. You have some awesome quilts and totes on your page. I love the "Dick and Jane" tote. A good friend of mine is a teacher and that would be perfect for her. Another project to add to my list!
BJ, Thanks so much for the prayers and continued well-wishes for my daughter Sarah. I am so thankful for the support of such a faithful quilting community. I appreciate you all more than you can know. Mary
