Anyone have some Singer Featherweight knowledge?   I'm having trouble getting the clutch to disengage so I can wind a bobbin w/o the needle moving.  Any info, as to why?

I have two links to patterns for the strawberry pinkeeps - you can probably use the basic design and adapt it to how you want yours' to look - I think I have another pattern for one somewhere - I will keep looking.  Here are links to two patterns with picture directions:

Hope this helps!

Hi Carol

Nice to be back. I need to get out of this rutt. Seems I have not been here for so long I lost all my freinds :(  Did you get the binding on your quilts???? I agree enjoy the nice weather when you can.

Hey, there.  Glad you are on the mend.  I have a new problem since we last chatted a lot...fructose malabsorption and it means I can't eat anything with fructose without getting the runs really bad.  I have lost a few lbs by avoiding the sugar, but need to get back on the plan to lose more.

I would love to get a baby from Penny, but the stud fees can be expensive and I don't think Bob would approve!  He has already told me I should sell Penny but I try to explain to him how much she adds to my life.  We will see.  This just isn't the right time of year.

We are going up to a campground near Molalla called Dakota Campground for Labor Day weekend.  The whole family will be there.  Looking forward to it.  They have yurts and zip lines and frisby golf, and a lot of other stuff.  It should be fun.

I have to say your man sounds like a jewel!  I would never ask Bob to go places just to visit quilt shops!  We have talked about going up to see the Hells Canyon area and he wants to go back up to Glacier Park one of these days.  This summer we didn't go anywhere as we had our semi-annual family reunion here at my daughter's place.  It turned out pretty good.  Plus, I have chickens that need to be taken care of and I am going to phase them out soon.  Waiting for cooler weather to butcher a couple roosters!

I have a wall hanging that I need to get made for one of Jen's foster girls.  I have to dye the fabric myself, as it calls for ombre fabric and I can't find it anywhere!  So...experiment time!  Will let you know how it turns out.  I am hoping it will help this girl feel more wanted, loved, whatever she needs!  Her family treat her like a toy that they can dress up and then when they are tired of her, send her back to foster home.  They make all kinds of promises and get her hopes up that they want her, but never follow thru and then she takes her frustration and anger out on Jen.  Later!

Yes, I am truly blessed!  I have heard of horses living till in their 30s.  Penny is 13 now and in her prime.  Still young enough to be trainable and maybe breed if I get crazy!  I may go out and ride again today.

I can just see your puppy running around the yard with all that thread!  You must have thought she had a wild hair!  What an imp!  Dogs are such blessings too, when they have good personalities.  Then it is hard when they get sick and old.

Sorry about your pickup.  I know what you mean about the poor house!  We recently had to get new washer and dryer.  We did get our pickup paid off this year, tho, and that feels good.  Bob keeps talking about getting something new, as my van is a 1997 and he thinks it is going to die one of these days.  I think we should not get anything yet.  He keeps thinking prices are going to go up so bad because of the government.  I don't know, things are a mess and seems the world is going to hell in a handbasket!  But that is no reason to go out and get into debt again!  I think debt is what is causing much of our countries problems now!

Jen wants me to come out and ride again this morning.  I think it might be too much to ride every day!  But it really does make a difference with the horse training if it happens more often than once a week!  And I never know what the future holds as far as my health is concerned.  Wish you could have a horse, too!  I know it is a passion with me, some people call it being crazy!

What kind of surgery did you have?  Just curious.  Hope it all went well and no more problems!  Have a great day.

Hey, Carol!  Just got home from riding at Jen's.  I sure do love my horse!  I have checked out this page off and on, very off and on, I must say!  I see that a lot of other people have done the same thing.  I think Facebook took a lot of people away.

Sorry to hear that about your pooch!  Our Roger is having some kind of problems, too.  He will be 12 in Dec. and he gets to breathing hard, or shallow, I am not sure which.  Seems like he is having strokes or seizures or something.  We have had him to the vet several times and they say his heart and lungs are fine!  I think we need to get his teeth done again and I know that they are pretty bad.  They say that the infection can actually get into their sinuses and really cause problems.  If he exerts himself at all he starts coughing really bad.  He is such a loving and happy dog when he is feeling good it makes Bob and me both cry at times, so I know how you feel!

Okay, I have taken up all the space they will let me have!  That is the one thing I don't like about this thing.  Have a great day!

Hey there stranger!  It has been awhile since I came on here, but it is good to see you again.  I have wondered how you were doing.  So much going on and I know you have been busy and having health problems.  Me too, but that is life, I guess!  Finished two quilts over the last few months.  Gave the one to my daughter for her birthday in June and then the other one to Gr. dr. at the fair for her graduation.  Didn't get it done for highschool grad. but they had a graduating senior shindig for the kids at fair and it was fun giving it to her then.  Both quilts were big ones and I had Dee Varner quilt them for me.  I love it that she lives just down the street from me.  I don't come on here every day like we did before, but I remember how much fun we had when we did get together.  Maybe we can get it going again!  Hope your surgery went well.  I found out I have a problem called fructose malabsorption and I have to watch what I eat to prevent stomach upset and really bad runs.  Not life threatening, but pretty uncomfortable if I cheat!  Okay, looking forward to seeing you again real soon.

Hey there...long time since we talked. Hope all is well where you live. How is your dad? Hope you are still working and not laid off. We are fine. I finished the horse quilt I am donating for fundraiser for the 4-H club. Hope it brings in lots of cash. Got to ride Penny the other day and was so proud of her and so thankful that the hard work we did paid off. I don't have to fight with her any more about going into the correct lead! We have been having mild weather, but it got cold today. And I saw a forsythia bush in full bloom down the street! Seems a little early to me. I have crocus and tiny jonquils blooming, as well as violets and prim roses, also the hellebores, but they bloom early anyway. I went down to the Bernina shop to check out the stitch regulator but my machine won't take one. Darn. The guy wanted me to trade in my machine and get a new one for $2900 and he was only willing to give me $400 for mine! Not! I think I might wait till the pickup is finished being paid off and then get one of the Tin Lizzie long arms on payments! Sigh.... Okay, hope to hear from you one of these days. Gladys

Hi Carol, thanks for the nice comments about my sewing room video. The Amish Quilt on the wall was from a machine quilting class at a LQS many years ago and the quilt top prep was just verbal instructions...sorry! I can tell you it measures approx 40" square.

Hi Carol, I hate having my pic taken, always have but decided to add this one even to I'm so over weight.
Mom is in the hopsital right now and not sure she'll come home as I can't take proper care of her. She can hardly stand or walk and needs a nurse and that I'm not and I have some health problems of my own right now that need tending to so she may go to a nursing home, we'll see. More later

I agree about the birds, but the squirrels we have are the ground diggers and are a pure pest. We try to discourage them. And no, the barn isn't heated and Penny spends her days outside in the weather. She has a shed she can get into, but she has a real heavy winter coat that protects her. She is really dirty as they like to lay down in the mud! Winter isn't the best time to see the horses! My chickens have also been having it hard and I have been having to haul warm water out to them. I scatter hen scratch on the ground for them, plus the birds like to get in there and share the bounty. I finally got those two roosters butchered and the poor hens are having it much more peaceful now. My little silkie hen seems to be healing up fine, I still have her in the dog kennel so she can get all better before I put her back in with the others. She looks like she is growing feathers back on her back where they got worn off. She acts like she is going to start laying again one of these days. None of the hens are laying now as the days are so short and they need more daylight to stimulate them to lay. I don't want to pay for the extra electricity for lights in the hen house!

I am glad to hear you are still working. I have been trying to be careful about what I eat, too, but have enjoyed some fudge, etc. Yesterday Bob took me to see Avatar in 3-D. It was wonderful and a packed house! A long movie, though and we both had numb butts by the time it was over! More later.

Hi Carol, Yes, they put a limit on how many words you can write. I had to go back and delete a lot of stuff on a couple of the notes I wrote. I guess I can get pretty wordy on here. We had a great Christmas. I am not liking the weather much, though. I am in the process of quilting a horse bunk bed size quilt on my machine. I am donating it to our club for a fund raiser. It is going pretty fast and I should have it done by tomorrow.
I sure feel for people who are having to drive in this ice! I am working on a horse blanket for Jen that will be given to Scott for his 40th birthday. Sure seems like a long time ago when I turned 40! I wouldn't be depressed about turning 40 at all!!! The blanket is black! Supposed to be a surprise for Scott along with the horse it will be on. I am waiting for some supplies to complete it that I had to order online from a store in Corvallis that should get here by tomorrow. Okay, I think I better keep this relative short. Will try to keep in touch better..Have a wonderful New years.
